Reaper in pve/raids
I’ve been discussing it with some of the guilds that have been looking forward to raids. The reaper spec will likely have a place purely on the basis that it hits hard and can in turn take hits. It may not have much in the form of group utility but it has the exact opposite if that makes sense? The Reaper is geared for taking on a group of enemies, breaking them down through any number of means, and shattering them. It’s an anti-group weapon and depending on what enemies we see in endgame HoT, that will be invaluable.
On top of that, it’s incredibly fun to play, which will be enough for people to FIND a place for it in group content. I think the problem will more likely be that too many of the group will want to be reaper. That’s where you’ll reach the limitations because after a certain number, the reaper’s lack of group utility becomes painfully apparent. But hey, that just means it will be another incentive to diversify parties! Win-win!
I like the synergy it has of using its spin in a fire or poison field. Delivers tons of condi damage
Reaper’s are very selfish (no different then the usual necro) but they also have self sustain. A properly traited reaper will maintain 25 stacks of might under 50% baddy life bar (18 – 20 when above 50% health), they are also very viable for pwr/condi& tank builds ATM since poison stacks (RS#4 in a poison field = 20+ stacks of poison) and BB.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a large portion of Reapers running full sinister stats which if you had a group of 5 – 10 reapers would be pretty stellar. You don’t really loose out on anything by having to many Reapers since they don’t party buff so your never really wasting anything.
the only party benefit would be constant vulnerability (can maintain 25 stacks no problem) but lots of classes can do this.
it really depends on how you trait it. A reaper can give perma protection and raise people passively, give area lifesteal and so on.
in this particular raid reaper is very useful because can ahave boon ripping, condi damage, raw damage and high survivability even naked.
