I have to just say thank you for the information (good and bad) everyone provided on the forums about the expansion. I mainly wvw and recently read the feedback concerning the expansion and decided to ask for a refund. This is the information you will need to know if you decide to ask for a refund. Not kittening about the expansion just providing information to others that might have similar thoughts. Thanks again to everyone for their input.
Thanks for contacting us.
We can look into refunding your Guild Wars 2 purchase. Please note that the code that you are requesting a refund for will be permanently disabled. If you registered the code, all features, including game access, will be removed. If you haven’t used the code, the code cannot be registered.
If you understand and agree to the terms of the refund stated above, please reply with the following information below so that we may begin the refund process:
Your Guild Wars 2 purchase Order Number provided in the receipt of the purchase(s)
The e-mail address you used when making the purchase
If a credit/debit card was used: the last four digits (only the last four, please) of the card
If PayPal® was used: the invoice ID from your PayPal® payment history
If online banking was used, please make sure that you are contacting us from the e-mail address used to make the purchase
Your billing address including your zip code or postal code
Note: Paysafecard purchases cannot be refunded under any circumstances. If your game purchase was not made from our website, please contact the retailer you purchased the game from to inquire of a refund. It is not possible for us to refund a purchase made from another retailer.
We look forward to your reply.
Did you notice that they said your GW2 code, not your HoT code?
You could be signing away your entire account.
Not a problem, but I would issue a word of caution for the future, remember you don’t have to preorder anything. It’s in your interests not to, you have all the power.
Reviews, Twitch, Player / friend experiences, Youtube, etc. give us a tremendous amount of power to make informed decisions, I hope you fair better with your money and time in the future.
No, they refund your hot code not your whole account.

You do sign away your entire account. It says that in the Refunds FAQ: requesting a refund closes your GW2 account.

That’s what I am trying to tell Anet. Don’t let WvW players grind for PvE stuff.
I disagree for that refund part tho, the content of the expansion is a lot and fun. They just need to fix that Hero Points system crap!
You should be able to get a refund for a NEW product you arnt happy with whatever the nefarious wording /opaque machinations involved in Anet deciding to consider HoT and GW2 one package
- they wernt ONE package when Vets bought it – pretty sure this is covered in the UK with Trading Law and online purchases actually have more legal protection on refunds in many cases

I asked for a refund and they just removed the expansion, I can still use my core account.
“Sorry for the confusion.
We will only refund and remove Heart of Thorns content on your account.
If you still wish to proceed with the refund, please provide us with the information previously requested."
