Yeah, figured I should do that. Just wanted to maybe find out from other players what their experiences were.
It may depend on if you had owned GW2 before you bought HoT. If you were a Play for Free or had not owned core GW2 until you pre-purchased HoT, you likely wouldn’t be able to get a refund without losing the core game.

They stated for me they would deactivate my account if I went through with it. Just e-mail support. Hope you’re luckier than me as it seems many others have had success.

If you’ve got a separate GW2 key, I’d follow up and go: but I purchased GW2 separately and This Thread on the official forum (include link to thread) says that they’ve had their HoT purchased refunded without deactivating their account.
If they still don’t, I would post in the GW2 Sticky for Tickets without a response. It’s also the place to have your ticket looked at in cases where you disagree with support’s decision.
I sent in a ticket yesterday, I hope they will answer soon. I bought the core game in 2014 so I hope I can keep it but get my money back for HoT…

You can keep the core game and refund hot but…only if you bought hot recently. If you pre purchased you are out of luck, see below reply.

I asked for a refund, and I was fully prepared to have my account locked. However, they indeed just removed HoT. I can still play the base game, no problem. And I had the Ultimate edition.
Same here, prepurchased but asked for refund a while ago on 2 accounts, HoT was removed, core game intact. AFAIK, theres 30 days refund limit.

can confirm they just removed hot from my account so i still can play the core game.

So since i trusted arena.net and pre-ordered i’m not allowed to get a refund. This backs up the theory you should never pre order anymore. Thanks for Ripping me off. 30 days is ridiculous especually since it was a pre order. i only played for a few hours of the expansion and logged off.
