Remember when?
Remember when you could unlock every skill and trait for a profession in a few hours of crafting? Yeah I do too…
So you admit they are using terribly dated design choices?
A few hours? Man… that must have felt like “A long time”
You should have come to the forum to complain about how long it took.
You don’t think it is ridiculous that you have to grind the same 5 events for several hours just to get gliding and jump mushrooms?
Remember when “A long time” in an MMO was at least 1 year?
Since when did “A long time” become 1 day?
This is just laughable. The instant gratification is the downfall of society.
I you mean back in the day when that was the only type of game made and you knew what you were getting into and it’s was clearly stated from the start?
Remember the expansions that drastically shifted a game and how well that has gone like star wars and trials of Atlantis for daoc?
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
You don’t think it is ridiculous that you have to grind the same 5 events for several hours just to get gliding and jump mushrooms?
No. I don’t think that is ridiculous at all. That is part of MMORPG’s. The grind is what makes it worth it when you finish. It’s called working and earning something and not just having it handed to you.
Remember when you could complete a story section…and then just start the next part?
Those were the days…..
You don’t think it is ridiculous that you have to grind the same 5 events for several hours just to get gliding and jump mushrooms?
No. I’ve played games where you have to grind for literal days to gain one level.
As for working (grinding) and earning something, it’s not like we talking about lumi armour or karma converter, we are talking about grinding for stuff you need TO PLAY THE GAME!!
This isn’t for aesthetics, or an item that makes some things easier in game, it’s grinding just TO PLAY THE GAME!
This isn’t grinding to get gold for a precursor, nor is it grinding for everything you need to make a legendary (mapping, dungeons/pvp farming for t6 etc) it’s grinding just TO PLAY THE GAME!
It really isn’t that hard to see the difference.
The problem is GW2 built its community on the very oposite of this. If this was another MMO no one is bothered, But thats why we play GW2 and not another MMO so we can avoid this nonsense

I don’t think it’s an Instant Gratification thing. The arguments seem to be more towards ’I thought/I was told I would be getting XYZ for my $, but I only got half of X. Y and Z are either gated or to be released “later”.
That wasn’t known until full release so now they’ve d/l the xpac, seen what it has, some people feel they haven’t received the promised product. They can see what the xpac offers within a day so they provide feedback within that day.
Quidquid Latine Dictum Sit, Altum Videtur
They don’t want instant gratification there’s a middle ground.

Do you remember when the game was fun?
It just laughable that we actually paid $50 for this mess.
… Pay $50 just to have content that lasts a few hours is what everyone wants apparently. I don’t mind the grind too much, so long as i have nice new scenery to look at.
