Removing things is not new content...

I don’t know how Anet got the idea that removing choice, removing variety, and removing content from the game was something i’d want … but it’s not…
Maybe that hasn’t been clear, but when I ask for NEW CONTENT I mean ADD content, don’t remove it…
Hopefully that clears things up for you… please change your expansion plans accordingly if you desire my money.

They’ve already spent probably thousands in development of the currently proposed features and there will most likely be a potential increase of revenue from players that end up becoming more engaged in the game due to the changes. Not to mention the redesign of the trait system seems to be geared toward making it easier to develop new trait lines in the future, decreasing development cost there.
Somehow I don’t believe you spend THAT much money on this game.

To be fair though this game was never designed for variety. It didn’t have GW1’s system.
The trait system has always heavily favored funneling people into all doing the same things. At least now they’re going to have to really approve of a handful of builds, rather than one or two per class.
Just uncoupling stats from traits trees opens more build Varity then we currently have, plus removing or merging or adding as a base feature some of the underwhelming traits doesn’t seem like a bad thing to me. Bonus the new UI looks sick.

The new trait system is just the latest of many problems. They also have removed 4 PvP maps, 1 WvW map, All water combat from multiple zones, traits, armor, outfits, and some other things that I can’t remember at the moment.
And yes I will vote with my wallet… which I thought I made pretty clear in my OP…

What 4 PvP maps? I thought they only removed Capricorn.
I’m also almost positive they said the WvW map will be part of a rotation, so it’s not getting removed per se.
Personally I think the new Trait and Specialisation system is an improvement as opposed to a problem.

You could make a weak argument that removing the water was technically removing the map and replacing it with a new one. But other than that, they have added a new “wvw” map with EotM. The expansion borderlands are already confirmed to be part of a rotation between New and old. And they minimized water combat, technically there is still deep water there, just not a compelling reason to fight in it. The new wvw borderlands are also designed to have underwater skirmishing in the oasis.
PvP they removed Capricorn when they added courtyard, but I can’t think of anything that else that isn’t still in unranked queue.
Other than seasonal stuff, and perhaps a bl skin our two, they haven’t really touched outfits and skins other than a couple of the formerly pvp exclusive skins.
And traits or equivalent change in every mmo over time. Nothing to get bent our of shape over. I am personally exited about something stats from traits, as it will make it easier to make the builds I actually want to make.
