Rethinking Guilds
There will continue to be a new for 100% guilds, for the same reasons that exist now:
- 400+ member guilds need a way to ensure they have room for new members.
- Guilds that want to focus on particular content, especially WvW and GvG.
And just as is true now, most guilds shouldn’t need to care about 100% rep.
Put another way, 100% rep is about socialization, not about the game’s mechanics.
I don’t have a rep policy in my guild and my guild is fine. I never cared about repping. If a guild is fun enough people will want to rep it. If they want to rep another guild, why shouldn’t they be able to? I’m not paying them. They don’t owe me anything.
At the end of the day, this won’t change anything for my guild personally. The main difference might be I’ll have more people repping if they’re not trying to level up bank guilds.
Our guild is a pretty tight group of people. Even though we won’t have to earn influence any longer, we will still work toward growing/improving our guild hall.
We enjoy doing things together and I don’t see that changing.
We require 100% rep, but honestly it has nothing to do with influence and everything to do with building a long-lasting community. We always allowed members to join multiple guilds if they wanted, but they could only rep us, unless of course they are using a personal guild bank, or running in TTS or something temporarily.
With these new changes nothing will change on our end, but our members that currently are in other guilds will now be able to communicate with them easily, which is a big plus.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
