Revanent and mace
In my experience with it, attacking the Wyvern from behind makes you far less likely to get turned into toast.
Nope, I use mace+axe to fight wyvern all the time. (Did it 6 times already) It’s a way better weapon than hammer (dps, condition, might stack, quick CC, gap closer)
Mace axe is actually an awesome set.
Mace is fine.
It’s mostly about watching for the fire breath attack and side-stepping to a safe area. It’s also better than hammer since you can walk behind it’s tail to avoid the Wing/Knockback attack, as well as be in range for all the boon sharing.
Too late for advice now but:
Mace 1 is just spam, whatever torment etc it’s an autoattack.
Mace 2 is a fire field on kitten cd.
Mace 3 is a blast finisher on 8s cd, use it with Mace 2 to get stack might up.
Axe 4 is a 2k hit (with celest anyway), but is also good if you’re about to be stuck on the wrong side of the wyvern.
Axe 5 is eh idk additional cc i guess.
Everyone seemed to stay in Jalis, but… Mallyx is incredibly powerful for the fight. You can take burning off allies (or just give yourself resistance to survive your own burning), you can spam confusion on him (works well with the 2might @passing 50% GM trait), and the torment-displacement field won’t displace him, which automatically sets him to 25 torment and will melt his break bar faster than 8 Jalis’ taunting him.
Elite is worthless other than for canceling constantly for free resistance though.

Mace/Axe worked fine against the wyvern. However, you can get a bit screwed depending on where the fire goes. For instance, in one fight I did against him, he ended up parked on the edge of the platform and covered the entire area in front of him with fire. You couldn’t get to his side or behind him because you’d fall off the platform, and there was literally no space left in front of him to stand. In fact, it was even difficult to fight him with hammer because the he was almost the entire 1200 range units deep into his pit of fire he made.
Other times I fought him though it was fine. Just have to manage where you stand, and heal yourself effectively (i.e. not camping in Jalis form while your heal skill in Mallyx form is ready). The axe was actually really useful because it would put you directly behind him, so it was great for avoiding his flame breath attack without having to waste a dodge to get through it.
