It is very annoying not knowing what weapons every profession is getting. Revealing them all would give people something to do, as well as mitigate some of Anet’s bad communication rep.

true true. I agree. Not sure what skills to collect for my Warrior, Ele and Thief to make them look good.
In 5 weeks you’ll know them all anyway (assuming they keep up with this release schedule, and assuming warrior & thief are last). All that is left is warrior, ele, thief, engineer, and ranger. We already know ranger is getting staff & engineer is getting hammer. Ele was datamined to likely be sword. The two not sure ones being thief and warrior. Thief rifle makes sense. Warrior is the only truly unknown. That give 5 confirmed classes to work on, a near guaranteed 6 (ele) with an iffy 7 (thief), to work on for the time being.
If you want speculation on the order of release, someone has wondered if https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/
the listing there is the order. So far it fits. Interestly, this list is a different order than both the original reveal and the drop down list. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out anet organized this recently to be in the order of release. They enjoy little clues like that.

Necro -> GS
Thief -> Probably Rifle
Ele -> Might be Sword
Ranger -> Staff
Guardian -> Longbow
Mesmer -> Shield
Engineer -> Hammer
Warrior -> My guesses are Pistol, Shortbow or (MAYBE) Torch. Or something else.
These are the weapons warriors can’t currently handle, and my very own opinion about them.
Staff: Most of the staff skins we currently possess do not look like they can double as Quarterstaves.
Shortbow: Might be, though I wouldn’t be a fan of it.
Focus: Doubt it. Foci can range from books to random organs. So, they don’t seem plausible, at all.
Torch: Maybe they could burn things with it, like the barbarians of days past).
Scepter: Same as foci:
Pistol: Rytlock is a warrior and can wield a pistol, so this might be it, especially considering Marjory, Trahearne and Necros getting GSwords.
Dagger: Maybe, but I wouldn’t count on it.
And no one cares about UW weapons (Tridents are for pansies).

i have plenty of skins to be prepared (altough not always the ones i want), i am allot more interested in what skins we can collect in HoT.

I’ve thought about this thinking about revnant staff. Seems a little odd fitting unless theres some spellish effects with the melee

I read somewhere on these forums that Anet was only releasing 3 elite specs, then doing something else before coming back to the elite specs.

While I agree with you, the only classes we don’t really which weapons they will get are Warriors and Thieves.
It’s almost certain that Eles will get a sword (it was datamined).
We know about Rangers, and Engineers already.

We do not know Eles and Thieves. That datamined stuff contained dagger and axe attacks, and also had 5 skills for each attunement. A one-handed sword would have 3. As for Thieves, rifle would fit, but we have no idea if they are actually getting it.
P. S Thieves will be called Dragonshooters if they get the rifle.
You’ve got months to collect skins, elite specs aren’t coming until Heart of Thorns. Waiting until all the specs has been revealed isn’t going to change that. You’ll still have months.

Incorrect. For melee weapons, you have three attacks built into the auto attack. Add in skills #2 and #3, and you have five skills, not three.
A Greatsword would have had 7 attacks, instead of 5, for the same reason.

Only if they have a chain attack. Elementalist daggers have none.
It is something eles are lacking, so maybe the axe auto placeholders do represent a sword. But we cannot know for sure until they say something.

Or maybe Ele gets sword for main and off-hand, probably not since it is a stretch of what ‘one weapon’ means but I can dream. I want to wield Jormag’s Breath and a FDS on my Ele at the same time.
I’m still waiting on what weapon will Revenant’s 1st specialization be but meh they’ll give it to us in time since we still have months before the official release.
Though Revevant so far has shown to lack in the Long Range options for his or her weapon choices with only Hammer being the only Range Weapon so far so I’m hoping 1st Rev Specialization give us something like short bow, long bow, pistol, or rifle.
Spear would be nice for warrior …
so much good spear skins.. and all of them wasted in water combat only =,, (

They did say melee weapons. Elementalist daggers aren’t melee, they’re shorter ranged than the other elementalist weapons, but the range on their autoattacks are 400/600/300/300. A significant increase over the 130 on every other class’ melee weapon (other than the ranger, because the ranger one handed sword cheats and moves the user closer).
