Asura make for naturally bad legend choices, because, while other figures possess legendary abilities through themselves, the only legendary strength of an Asura lies in their technology. Channeling Snaff might make a Revenant highly intelligent, but it would not grant them any noteworthy combat advantage.

Plus, Snaff is just so inter-changeable with about a million other Asuran geniuses of legend. Vekk, Gadd, and Oola would have just as much potential. And Hell, Oola is arguably a bigger figure in Asuran history, even with Zojja’s incessant peddling of her master’s name.

In eternal alchemy things change / evolve / back to source. I think that Snaff death wasn’t end of his cog job as part of eternal alchemy, he just changed / reborn as undead. I would like to see that scout of joko salvaged/took his body to master and there we go. Spoiler: datamained shiro, glint, ventari if I remember correctly.

Snaff was a fat cook in Jarkendar in Gothic 2. And also in Gothic 1.

Nothing too legendary, although he had nice recipe for stew.

“Revenants make for naturally bad heroes, because, while other professions go out and build a new legend through their own effort, the only legendary strength of a Revenant lies in copying others.”

Just struck me as a strange argument considering the core mechanic of the profession itself is about relying on the strength not your own…

I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Missing the point of the argument entirely. What is the Revenant going to invoke? Snaff’s golem? Likely not even possible. A pint-sized Einstein with no remarkable powers is not exactly a big boon to anything but the Revenant’s attempts to win a Snaff Award. Keep in mind that they have to stop channeling a legend that actually does grant them abilities in order to gain this, so doing so in combat would be a big mistake.

Now, if Snaff were a story legend channeled in a cutscene by Rytlock, the result could be some rather high quality writing.
