So the expansion comes with the new profession the Revenent and their special mechanic is channeling legendary powers, including the ability to call on power from legends like Mallyx, the Margonite overlord from the Domain of Anguish, or Jalis Ironhammer, the king of the Deldrimor Dwarves.

Channel legendary powers to slaughter foes and unleash chaos on the battlefield with our brand new profession: the revenant. Enter the field of battle heavily armored and equipped with the otherworldly powers of the Mists.

So it seems like revenants can call on the powers of legends from Tyria’s past. Who do you think we will channel? Who would you like to channel?

Mallyx suggests even bad guys are on the table.

It would be interesting to see Glint, Ventari, Vizu, Turai Ossa (THE hero of the mists) Rurik (possible loop-hole to end the Foefire curse?) or Bonfaaz Burntfur. It’d be cool to see some easter egg summons, like a Largos or Tengu hero that hints at future stories.

Edit: I previously had the title read “Who would you summon?” which implied the Revenant would physically summon a spirit of a legend. It doesn’t appear to be that way, rather you channel (Colin’s word) the spirit of a legend that grants you abilities similar to what that legend may have possessed in their life.

Summoning your GW1 character (linked through the Hall of Monuments) would be amazingly awesome and probably amazingly hard to implement.

Later edit: The more I think about, the more bad I feel if she didn’t make the cut… this is EXACTLY what the norn philosophy strives to be and she is after all the norn! I mean her statues are still all over Hoelbrak and Wayfarer’s!

Kormir, of course… there is a legend and a god in one what more could one ask for :P

Now of course it would likely have to be an echo of Kormir pre-ascension into godhood but who cares about those minor details.

On a more serious note, King Reza and/or Vizier Khilbron could be interesting….

I think they’re all going to be non-player races. So far we have a dwarf and a margonite confirmed. It would be unbalanced to have just one or two player races represented. (Unless one of them is slot that’s different for each race, but I wouldn’t count on that.

Glint is highly possible from the dragon animation in the trailer. Ventari seems like an obvious pick, but they don’t seem to be going with all the obvious picks, so…

My bf just pointed out that there could be more than 4 legends available – slottable sort of like ranger pets. That would be a cool way to include a lot of legends. They could be categorized for functionality, just with different aesthetics and on-activation abilities.
