Revenant Mechanics
I much prefer weapon swap. I find Ele and Engie almost my least played professions (Ranger wins, there). One reason is that I enjoy the freedom of hopping from weapon set to weapon set in combat, and my muscle memory flings my finger at the ~ key when I have too many things on cooldown. Sure, that’s a fast way to drop an Engie kit and revert to equipped weapons, but somehow attunement and kit changes don’t feel as fluid and intuitive.
What I’m hoping is Revenants get weapon swap, but also can custom configure F1-F4 to channel Misty powers of their choosing from a larger set than four. Then in combat you’re locked in to the 4 spirits you’ve selected but have two weapon sets to use, and out of combat you can change it up.
So far, their talk of getting new powers based on the legend you are channeling sounds a lot like Engie weapon kits. But there’s been so little information, who can say.
See this forum for mine and others speculation. At the time of this writing, that topic was third from the top.

i’m willing to bet it’ll be a mix between ele and engi, in that the F1-F4 skills dictate your weapon skills (like an attunement swap), but are tied to your chosen utility skills (like the toolbelt).
i don’t have any basis for this though, but that’s the only way i see the whole “using the power of legends” thing working as a profession mechanic that isn’t a direct copypaste of an existing mechanic with a different theme (plus, being limited to only 4 legends from the whole GW lore is really lame)
From an interview, it seems like legend’s skills complement but are not the weapon skills themselves. So it definitely reminds me of conjures/ kits. Hope it feels different enough from them, though.
