Chances of Revenant getting stealth??

We have a lot of blast finishers so hoping for some sort of access to a smoke field or a way stealth.

Probably not, and personally i think this is for the better.

seeing how only medium have it now I dont see a reason a heavy should get it thief/ranger maybe if a light had it they could give it to a heavy to even it out but they dont

right the torch skill and elite forgot about that, hardly see people use that

I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave the class a smoke field to blast.

Interestingly eles have a smoke field on their underwater weapon (see http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Murky_Water), so technically there is a light profession that has a smoke field…

Since I was already proven wrong 6 mins earlier you dident have to do it again and no ranger have no smoke fields only weapon skill stealth =)

It doesnt look like a stealth, he just gains misty form there, just like hammer 3. But personally i hope that he have at least one skill which would grant him stealth (in utility), after all its a dark magic profession, a “death knight” under new name.

Actually he stays in the stealth-particles for a brief second even after he stops teleporting. Looks EXACTLY like being stealthed. It would be fun if he only stealthed for the attack, but actually quite broken because getting hit lots and lots by something invisible and thus untargetable is pretty BS.

That would be actually fun xD either way i looked up at the trailer again and the olny thing i see is a jump at the start and the thing you mentioned is a mist form unless its a professions specific stealth color like mass invis from mesmer where youre surround by a purple effect but i doubt it considering the animation with hammer 3 where we can observe similiar effect..

Rangers have access to a smoke field trough jellyfish pets underwater.

I think you misunderstood what he was saying. He was saying Reventants do have blast finishers. He was hoping the revenant also gets a smoke field or some other way to get stealth.

FYI it’s them plus two utilities (decoy and veil). They’re stealthed right up the wazoo.

For starters he said do, not don’t. And yes we all know for a fact they have blast finishers. Detailed information on abilities 3 weapons and 2 legends were revealed about a week ago. All of this information has been entered into the GW2 wiki.

Yeah, from the 2 weapon sets showed so far (hammer and mace/axe) both have access to blast finishers, now we need to see if there are any Legend that gives a skill that gives smoke field.

Thats the thing though. Are there any notable characters that would be associated with anything that would give them smoke fields? If they can’t find a legend(ary) character that they can match smoke fields (or just about anything else), then its unlikely the Revenant will get certain things. There has to be the ties between the Legend they’re channeling and the skills/effects.

Considering the power that Rytlock displays with the sword where he kills all the mobs around him seems very much like shadow stepping, I would not be surprised if one of the legends is very roguish.

Considering they nerfed stealth on the engineer I doubt it.

have you ever been in WvW / SPvP ? kitten invis clone-spammer mesmers can ruin your day bro ;D

i think the Rev could get some kind of Invis Because we have invisibility in every armor-class except heavy and we’ve seen the Rytlock-Sword-AoE-Stealth-smash attack in the trailer so .. why not?

I think that we’ll end having 2 “good” heroes and 2 “bad”, even though I think that Shiro wasn’t actually bad, just a guy that got corrupted, the fortune teller was the Abbadon’s servant.

The trait one isn’t stealth, it is camouflage, the difference is that camouflage goes off if you do anything, including walking.

Jellyfish’s skill #3 is a smoke field, so … yeah rangers have only the LB #3 as stealth skill.

The trapper runes aren’t ranger’s, but can be used by.

God, I hope not. Far too many people running around stealth capable and not afraid to use / abuse it. So for the sake of simple variety I’m crossing my fingers they get something, ANYTHING!, other than stealth.

Not afraid to use it? of course not it is a mechanic. Why would I purposely limit myself. I hope revenants have some access to stealth.

It fits and I see Shiro Tagachi Legend being really capable

As I said in another post, it would be better if it had an anti-stealth mechanism. This game desperately needs it and its lore really fits the role.

They have everything else so why not.

I believe your confusing Revenant’s “Phasing” with Stealth which the two are completely different. Phasing allows you to shift from damage to become invulnerable for a short duration of time like 1 – 2 seconds. Which is not much and when I mean 1 to 2 I mean like Nano seconds. For example the axe number four lets you phase shift behind targets and avoid damage but when your out of it you can still be damaged. Kinda like hammer number 3 for revenant allows you to phase and leap and bash people but you teleport back to your initial location. Which leaves you vulnerable to attack cause people just have to aoe your original location. From what I can tell at the moment Anet and their developers don’t seem to want to implement stealth just phasing.

For those who don’t know what phasing means: Basically you shift and cannot not be hurt. Once you shift back to normal you can.

Its not stealth.

^One thing.. During a phase smash you still can take damage. Shiro should allow us to stealth but i doubt its going to happen.

Light armor class with Stealth = Mesmer
Medium armor class with Stealth = Thief/Engineer
Heavy armor class with Stealth = ?

I imagine if it’s on the table for Revenant that it needs to be tied to a Stance mechanic (Elite) and cost energy which would “balance” it against damage output or defensive activations.

Ranger also has access to stealth. Elite for Shiro is already reserved – Jade Wind. Glint or Ventari? I doubt it. Stance wont work well either as you would be able to do nothing but stealth spam. But something like 40 energy cost for 4sec stealth?
