Revenant and Herald useless in Hot
I find Herald rather strong, if not op, even with full zerk I have much sustain than I ever had on warrior. You just have use your skill strategically. Use Glint heal when you are about to get a big hit incomming, use Shiro heal when you are about to burst. Use Staff 5 and Sword 3 for Evades, pretty easy.
The general consensus is that revenant is pretty much the most OP thing about the expansion.
Are you trying to solo champions?
If so, there aren’t many classes that allow that, and if there are any you need to be a really good player.
Rev/Herald is VERY strong, I finished the story, fully unlocked herald, and all my raid tries were as rev and I go with a pretty glass build, survival was never an issue, specially after herald unlocked and the Glint’s healing.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

Pretty easy? Thats long rotation involved timing. With Dragon Hunter you just spam all traps and Guardian all meditations when you need heal.
I’ve actually soloed some of the new hero points on Revenant. Unrelenting Assault (Sword 3) is an attack that makes you immune while attacking. It’s awesome when you need to dodge while keeping your dps up. Duelist’s Preparation (Sword 4) is another good skill as it’s a channeled block that doesn’t automatically activate the next linked skill from a melee attack. With just those two skills and the dodges, I soloed the Egg Clutch hero point in Auric Basin.
On top of that, I don’t like Revenants. They lack the amount of utility skills that all other professions have and I feel they don’t have enough condition clears and stun breaks. The ones they do have are traited into things that I rather they weren’t. For example, I don’t want to legend swap to stun break because that temporarily locks me into skills that may be bad for my current situation.

Thats because Guardian is one of, if not the easiest spec out there. Maybe herald actually requires skill compared with Guardian
I’ve soloed a few champs with Herald, in general i find it a really good class (revenant not so much), i can’t imagine why someone could call it useless.
I don’t know what you are talking about. I’ve had no issues surviving on my full glass Herald and I managed to solo several HP Champs. I also soloed a camp defense to which I had pulled a champ troll in VB. Herald is quite OP, I actually expect some nerfs to be happening soon.

Congrats. You’ve won the most rediculous post reward of the week.
I have tryed all kinda gears and builds. Ranged and melee. Always i try do hero points with party champ aggro me(any gears) and only follow me i got swiftness impossible to kite. I tryed tank with soldier gears champ still kill me like instally.
I have played Guardian and Dragon Hunter with no problem.
i genuinely think it’s a trolling post .. lol
I played Guardian for over 2.7k hours on 5.5K hours on my account.
My herald is my new main .

I’ve mostly played on my Rev. While I don’t usually solo champs at any time, I did so and won on my Rev.
Hardly useless.
ANet may give it to you.
Stop wearing toughness gear. If you are using Hardening Persistence in the Herald line, choose something else. Problem solved.

Nothing wrong with Rev, so it must be something else…

Blade, I reccomend you to play a Thief or Mesmer for a while, then go back to the Rev.

Yeah, I mean, that’s like 4 skills mentioned. Its not like OP can set four auto attacks at once!
Give the lad a longbow and a bear.
(Yes I am what some may call an Elitist Prick. I spend my days spamming in my squad broadcast “Y u no DOOOOODGE?!!!1” to myself because I have no friends but I can solo kitten so I have that going for me, which is nice)
Rev is easy to pick up, difficult to master. My Rev with rare armor doing very well in VB and AB. But I ran mine in the core game for a while before I took him to the jungle. Rev offer skill combo and attunements switching playstyle of ele with the high mobility of Mesmer. I also change my build a lot to suit different encounters.
Rev is definately the most OP class in the game. Large amounts of CC. You can’t just spam one anymore kiddos.

That’s not even a rotation at all, just a list of things that you can do. It’s far more defensive than the ideal rotation though.
Ideally, you actually just activate your passives and autoattack with sword, healing when necessary.
I’m completely serious.

I bet you haven’t soloed the tougher Champs.
The only class that can do that without being a master skillful player with perfect timing and rotation is ranger due to having 2 meat shields and good range dps. MM Necro is pretty close, but the result is pretty inconsistent depending on Champ.
DH is not going to win against some tough champs in TD. Also DH dps is considerably lower than Revenant. I have tried all E-spec with zerk or a mix of zerk and know the dps difference of all classes pretty well.
Theoretically, Revenant has the tool to solo all champs if you make 0 mistake and rotate your skills at perfect timing, since it has all the tools to negate damage/ evade/ heal. However, because it’s very hard to do so, I still feel that ranger is the stronger class when it comes to soloing champs.

All the utility of Revenant is actually hard-tied to Invocation. Try to pick that up and you’d see the difference. Also Shiro’s strongest point is actually not imposible odds, but rather Jade Wind. This CC is so darn powerful lol..
This is quite literally a L2P issue.
Not got my rev to HoT yet, but man, they are OP when traited right, they can stack might for fun.

The majority of HPs is simply not meant to be soloed. Increased toughness and vitality combined with some cheesy side-mechanic like AoE is enough for most professions/builds to not be able to solo HP champs. Get someone to help you or simply wait for an HP train.

DH = TRAPS. You get traps to skills 6,7,8,9,0 thats 5 traps. All traps daze, most cripple, very easy to kite. Traps give maad DPS too. You melt break bar like nothing then you can start using GS what got alot better dps than revenant.

Lmao, you never played Rev before I assure you.
I have every E-spec, all of them full zerk or maurader, and DH and Chrono are 2 of the lowest dps ones. I played Rev, and then go back to DH, and find that my killing speed is like WAYYY slower than Rev, like 1/2 of the kill speed.
DH is good at chipping CC bar, but so does Rev.

No clearly YOU havent played Rev. It is the stupidest thing ever, it doesnt even need to use skills it just autoattacks with whatever weapon for stupid amounts of damage.
Congrats. You’ve won the most rediculous post reward of the week.
And you the post for the most useless reply of the week. Either try to be helpful or post nothing, troll.
“Lmao, you never played Rev before I assure you.”
I don’t know why this is “lmao” as there’s nothing wrong with not having played the prof before, so there’s no need to make it sound sneering. If he had played Rev before, he’d likely have had some prior knowledge about the rough in and outs.
