For the Revenant, how would you like to see the support role handled?
Want strong support like a guardian, or weak support like a thief?
thoughts?
Apparently the role of the Rev is strongly tied to the Legend that is active, so when the support Legend is active I expect a quite strong support utilities and elite.
Support can be everything that’s not dps. Even some parts of control abilities can be considered supportive. Therefore I can see revenant as possible candidate to good support class with his condition control and protection from Jalis. However we need more info.
I repeat myself but;
Scoobaniec.9561:There wont be such thing as support legend either cause if we take a look at Mallyx and Jalis both offers teamgroup support actually;
Jalis;
-group damage reduction, aoe stunbreak <?
-group stability
-taunt to hold aggro for a moment (pvp thing)
-and they also talked in one of the interviews about one to call rune from the sky to create a safe zone for allies that they dindt showed us in demo. No idea what that" safe zone" supposed to mean as it can be basically anything.Mallyx;
-group condition cleaning
-boonstripWe might as well call Jalis as support legend based on that. But even then he still has offensive ability with hammers spinning around you and again – taunt, a cc. Which leads to the point that every legend will have some sort of support and dps.

Well that’s nice, but just because they offer some support doesn’t make them support legends (not that taunting is support). Kind of like how the actual support legend will also offer some things that aren’t purely support.

Jalis is not “some support” hes pretty much oriented for support and groupplay. 3 out of 5 abilities are support. And taunt can be a support if lets say someone is really low on hp, you can taunt mob/player to get aggro giving your party member a breathing room to heal up or w/e. How is that not support?
By support legend you actually asking for a healer/tank role which wont happen.

How is that not support? It’s control, that’s how it’s not support.
I’m not asking for anything (although the inevitable Glint legend is very likely to be much more supportive), I’m just saying that it’s not primarily supportive, it’s primarily tanky mixed in with some control and support. Jalis’ heal is not supportive in any way, it has one supportive utility, and it has a tanky/supportive elite. Compare this to guardians who can have a set of non-weapon skills be 100% supportive.
The healer and tank roles have already happened, they just don’t really occur in most kinds of PvE.

So your idea of support seems to be more along the sides of buffing and healing? Correct me on that if i’m wrong.
I think Revenant will definitely get good support capabilities, indeed Mallyx could be considered support already (in a debuffing type way).

Thief weak support? They have more blast finishers (granted same skill) than most classes do, perma blind, and group stealth. That is not even accounting for a Venomshare build. That is a lot more support than most classes, there is a reason Necro’s are not wanted in groups, they do not provide any group utility or support.
On topic: Revenant already looks to have strong support abilities, Projectile block, condi clears, aoe damage reduction, and that is just with what we know so far.

Yes, for the most part. Healing, condition removal, and any form of buffing. Barriers might walk a fine line between support and control, although I’d say they fit more into the category of control usually.

And might stacking, dat 3x blast finisher on 8cd.

Granted that is on mace, and doubt that it will be meta in pve, but if used for pre-stacking before weapon swapping, it could be useful.
