I have read and followed information about this Revenant class since the Expansion was announced and had been excited about it. I watched some of the demo gameplays online during the PAX events. I thought the stances were interesting until today where I actually came to a realization.
Maybe it’s just me or I’m over-thinking this, but after reading the skills again as I entered the story demo today (Beta Tester), it hit me that the Demon Stance is condition-oriented whereas the Dwarf Stance is not (can play as zerker, cleric, kight, etc.), but it doesn’t make sense to play a condition build using the Dwarf Stance. I don’t read official forum much, but has anyone discussed this before?
Essentially, if I am to play a zerker Revenant, my Demon Stance is pretty much useless because the utilities are condition attacks. What makes it more weird is if I’m in zerker build (using a hammer), and switching to Demon Stance, my utilities have become condition attack skills, but my weapon skills is still in zerker mode. What???
So does this means Revenant was created to utilize Celestial gears like Engi/Elementalist?
Also, this isn’t really a flaws, but I noticed that, we are stuck with given 3 utilities (excluding Elite which is only 1) on either stances. Are we gonna get more utilities for Revenant in the future or is that the limit?
Because right now, I don’t even know how the heck does a zerker Revenant plays like in this test. Although, I am loving the condition game play when I have my mace+axe on, which is the ONLY thing interesting and enjoyable about Revenant for me today’s test.
Overall, I don’t have any complaints about the 1st HoT beta test today, everything seems fine and dandy except the Revenant is confusing me.
So am I missing something here or over-thinking it? I’m confused.
Suggestion to Anet: Can we get more different gear stats (zerker, knights, caveliers, dire, rabid, etc.) in future tests? Would like to test Revenant’s builds. Thanks.
