It will be like a thief terrible at low level and seen as OP by noobs and OP at high level and will get nerfed to a specific style like thief now filling the decap and executioner role.

So there is this type of mouse that uses a ball. You can spin the ball and the character will spin around really fast. Meet your new range-less PvP, it has a Revenant.

So thieves are seen as OP by noobs, and they’re seen as OP by people who aren’t noobs. Sounds legit.

Mesmers and guardians already have good forms of reflection or projectile defense (especially guardians). Although I suppose the revenant’s reflection may be a bigger threat.

Anything complicated is OP to noobs ,decent players know there is a major difference between a good and bad thief some want it removed.

The problem I have with the hammer is that the auto-attack is a 100% projectile finisher. I don’t see how this is fair, and it goes against all other designs in the game.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stoning

100% physical projectile

Thing is no staff ele ever sits in earth and spam 1. Ele works differently, you go through attuenements so you get the finishers probably like 20% of time. Hammer revenant on the other hand will always have the finisher on his auto attack.

Cant count how many times I’ve seen people post this, but Rev stuff blocks, not reflects. Strong but a pretty big distinction. Makes so many of these posts hard to take seriously.

In short, this skill is a 0 CD stun break, 0 CD stability, 0 CD endure pain to 5 allies, and has 100% up time.

I’m pretty sure that‘s why thief is so stronk.
0 CD teleports, 0 CD blinds, 0 CD bursts, 0 CD daze, 0 CD poison, 0 CD cleave damage, 0 CD aoes
trinkery steal the most powerful skill in this game with only 20 CD, no cast time.

I am wondering how anybody knows how OP Rev is going to be based on:

  • We don’t know what all of the Rev skills/traits are yet; nor were we able to use them to test out potential builds.
  • We weren’t able to customize our gear stats (all celest shows nothing as I think had 1,370 ish power)
  • We don’t know any of the class specializations (Rev included) or any the traits that are getting re-worked.
  • Same thing for runes, sigils, foods, and any new stat combos they may add for armor/weapons/accessories.
  • We couldn’t do any PvP/WvW.
  • Finally, based on all the above: we haven’t been able to make coordinated groups to see how well the class plays out in that dynamic. Whether that be PvE, sPvP, or WvW.

I am just hoping the people creating these “This is OP” threads aren’t the ones getting into all the betas. You need to be able to apply critical thinking to see the whole picture, and then make your argument. Guess what? The picture hasn’t been fully painted yet!

The reason why we said it’s OP is because with just a 25% completion class with wrong stats and gear, we’re already able to feel the strength of the class already. When it becomes a full class with all the tools and right traits/ gears, how much stronger could it be?

People who criticize about Revenant’s low dps may find out a significant difference when they trait to full zerker, and people who can already stack condition like crazy will find it more deadly when combine with correct gears.

Id say..nerf power ranger. Too stronk 1v1. I mean come on.. he press 2 and im dead?!

Thing is revenant doesnt have weapon swap nor 20 weapon skills like ele+another 4 utility which counts as 24 skills total. In comprasion revenant comes with 5 weapon skills and 8 utility for a total of 15.

Where you did feel that strenght? In dumbed down pve so even beginner could complete it by smashing 1 olny with face on the keyboard? You all act like stability = immune to damage. And we already know hammer damage in zerk gear. You dont obviously

The content was on Easy mode for the demo, so it’s not that we were strong, its that everything else was made weaker for us to feel strong.

Again, you list a lot of things that on paper look nice, but you purposly ignore the rest of the weaknesses

The thing is you are again comparing it to a demo that was (as mentioned) dumbed down for people who have never played that game be able to enjoy at PAX. Also, we have no idea what else is changing for other classes, or what the group content will look like, etc. Everything anybody can make an argument for at the moment is based on assumption with too little data. You really can’t see that?

If the enemy team is almost entirely composed of one class, then its time to hardcounter. If you’re talking zergs, better whip out that aoe cleave.

So? That doesn’t mean anything, it’s about projectile finisher not number of skills. Ele’s skills have much higher cooldowns than revenant’s.
