Heyo, scribes of Tyria. Since there isnt a handy-dandy “Bed” decoration to craft, I had to get creative and work something out that I liked. What have ya’ll come up with in regards to imitation bedding? Mine is 2 Simple Tables, 2 Simple Cabinets, and a cushion

Hahaha, that’s nice. But if you are going to go with the severe, spartan look, use just 1 Simple Table and 1 Simple Cabinet with that cushion: Soldiers sleep in single sizes.

Ow, that looks painful. Maybe you could “tile” it with cushions to make a mattress and then put another cushion one tier up as the pillow? Or would the item limit get in the way?

Item limit. I tried that already. you’ll get maybe 5 or 6 cushions on there and be stuck with a half finishes bed and also no way to add furniture in a ten mile radius around it.

Cant you change the dimensions of the items? (Sorry, I don’t have decorations permits so I don’t know how it works)

I’m hoping if beds become available they’ll go the minecraft way and allow us to use them as spawn points when we enter the guild hall. I have a little space in my guild hall that I think of as my own and I’d like to appear there when I enter the hall, since it’s way up high and a real pain to get to from the main spawn at ground level. There’s so many rooms in the halls. We should be able to pick a room as our own and spawn there. Just a little day dream I have.

My guild is too small to have a guild hall (just me and my brother), so I’m fascinated to see how it works and what people can do with them. I wish people would post some more screenies, I’d love to see them

If you ask others to help you, you can still have a guild hall.
Me and one other essentially run our own guild hall (now level 20) so its not out of the question.

The initial take-over is really the only hurdle.

No. You can’t change the scale or XZ rotation of the decorations. You can place them and rotate them on Y (left/right) and you can only delete them with a highly imprecise aoe based tool (no selecting individual items to move/delete)

It’s a functional, but not all that robust decoration system compared to what you may have experienced in games like SWG, EQ, CoH, or ArcheAge, or Black Desert.

Hopefully, improving that system is something that’s on Arenanet’s list of QoL after more pressing matters are attended to. It’s extremely bare bones right now.
