Bugs? I soloed that fight without any problems my first time. Are you sure you just aren’t doing it right or pressing things at the right time?
Due to your rage like post, I assume it’s on your end simply because you seem like the person to freak out and blame Anet instead of re-evaluating your own skills or if you did anything wrong during the fight.
There are definitely a lot of bugs in the last mission. You should consider yourself very lucky that you were able to play through it on your first try without any bugs. Just to list a few bugs I’ve encountered so far:
-Canach becomes permanently invulnerable (no, reflecting grenades does not work)
-Not being thrown into the air by the whirlwinds when Mordremoth does his ground attack
-Rifts spawning in unreachable places
-Mordremoth spamming his skills without delay (I was literally being tossed around nonstop for a good 20 seconds, unable to use a single skill within that entire period)
If you look around, you’ll see that many other people are experiencing these issues, which are completely unrelated to the skill of the player.

I find your post hard to believe. I’ve just come from roughly 5 hour session try to beat Mordremoth. A single segment of the final fight, up to “massive attack” took an average of 27 minutes to kite through.
3 successive attempts got me killed instantly and inescapably by the “massive attack.”
I see two possibilities;
A.) You are a god tier player and / or exceptionally lucky. Though if that were the case, you’d be unlikely to put down others. Pros tend to be nice people.
B.) You aren’t being truthful.
L2P posts are seldom productive and you are wrong this time.
Trust me Ithilwen if he’s a pro he proves that there are definitely not nice ones which I choose not to elaborate on.

I received no bugs when I did the fight. It took me a good 20-25 minutes to beat but I one shotted it because it wasn’t too hard. It was a smooth fun fight.
If that means I’m god tier then well, thanks.
I was a raider in GW1 and WoW so maybe my experience just helped me out with it lol.
The Pale Tree beat the ever living crap out of me though.
Yeah, I’ve been trying to do it for a couple days now, now if your able to do it your first time, flawlessly, no deaths (I did it with a party, because I like people…) then sure it would work.
But mistakes where made, and if you have to retry it, that’s when the bugs kick in, like others have said, portals floating in space, him using all his abilities from the start, updrafts/gliders not working, npcs not doing what they supposed to, ect.
It would be a great fight, if the bugs weren’t so numerous.

Its a more fun fight with a group. I couldn’t solo it on my thief. Only toon I’ve done it with.
Thanks for the caps in your op. It helped.
Ive sevral bugss
1. Rifts dont spawn or are unusable
2. npcs become invulnrable.
3. Drafts dont toss u up in the sky/gliders dont deploy
4. Mordremoth uses all skills at once with out cooldowns
5. Playing in a party you cant get back into the fight after beeing killed to these bugs making the complete quest useless to do and cant follow the storyline.

This is the bug that I encounter every time I try this mission.
What worked for me with the updrafts:
1. As soon as your toon calls out the huge attack start holding down space
2. Walk into a updraft without jumping it will push you in the air still, keep holding down space
3. Your glider opens automatically as soon as possibe while holding down space
4. Dodge rocks by changing directions as soon as he throws the 2nd and 3rd time through
Alternative:
Facetank the whole thing with Necro.
I am stuck at the end, Mordremoth is at less than 20% life, I actived the rift and – nothing. He has his “weakened” debuff, but activtaing the rift did nothing. Now I am standing here, Braham Canach and I looking at Mordremoth who keeps casting small orange AOE fields that neither kill us nor him.

Edit: Instance holder MUST stay alive – we did it again and second time it worked – please fix that – other party members must get that option, too.
(I did not get the second rift needed when I was the sole survivor.)

I dealt with all of these bugs over 4 attempts. All you can do is die and restart the fight. When Mordremoth attacks without any cool downs, that is just annoying. It doesnt kill you but you just have to sit there and take it. I did the fight on my Druid which made it a slower fight but I was able to keep my health up between phases.
Overall, I am disappointed with the fight. Compared to Zhaitan, this was not a very involved story. I was hoping to see Mordremoth in the new raid or some other group event. But as a solo fight after a just few days of playing the story, plus Mordremoth looking more like a mutant than an Elder Dragon, left me dissatisfied. Maybe the rest of HoT will make up for it….
OMG!!!!! There is way too much going on with glowing waves and energy balls, I get past the first glider part, then as I’m trying to fight the jerk everything is swirling and twirling and
I can’t speak for the rifts spawning off the platform but last night a group and I finally took Mordy down in spite of the party leader dying. We all decided to take a chance and bet that changes were made that would allow us to win. After his bar was depleted all defeated party members respawned back on the ground. There was much rejoicing over this new development.
So thank you, Anet. Whatever you did worked, for us at least, last night and we were able to complete our stories.
dang it, missed the last glider event. I got up twice without killing over only to not be healed by AI members at the last. I am determined to finish this!!

I had a similar situation, I didn’t end up running into any bugs, or at least not any gamebreaking ones. Canach stopped being effected by reflected grenades, but I just dropped the shield and finished it with normal attacks. Other than that though, I didn’t run into any issues.

Im not “raging” about the difficulty, but about the bugs together with the time it takes to win the fight.
This encounter would be epic for the raids, but not for solo imo.
I also solo’d it with my power necro (pre-reaper). I died several times in the first part, then canach also was not affected by my reflecting grenades so I just used regular attacks and got him that way. The fight took quite a long time but other than that I had no bugs and felt pretty accomplished after, as I am a pretty casual player. When I finished and spawned out, i saw many players in say chat complaining about bugs who were fighting at the exact same time as me, so I’m not sure how widespread the bugs were :/ I imagine it would be extremely frustrating, that is a long and involved fight.

I was able to solo it on my reaper with a second try with no real bugs to be noticed so I don’t believe he’s lying.
The biggest problem I have is the reality rift appears out of the arena (i.e. floating IN THE MIDDLE of the AIR). I have to tried 5 times, break my shoes and I realize that pulling NPC to the middle minimize the chance rift spawns in mid-air.
I did the instance more than 6 times and it hasnt bugged on me yet. I beat it each time with no problems. But once I tried extreme thats when I started seeing the bugs.
