When playing as a sylvari, one of the first things you learn about the pale tree is that when a sylvari dies, all their memories return to the dream, where they are shared with yet unborn sylvari, who learn from them. In short, it is one giant databank of sylvari memories.
Now recently, we have been told that Mordremoth can offer sylvari some kind of immortality, as in, when you kill one, he just spawns a new one with the same personality and memories of the one before.

Considering the pale tree is a champion of Mordremoth, what is stopping her from doing the same to her firstborn? power? a moral issue?
They are less or more a ruling body for the sylvari. They give directions etc etc etc. Having ‘immortal’ firstborn would be a very powerful feat. Especially since there are no other canditates in line ready to take over, and we have already lost three. (you’re either a firstborn or you’re sylvari)

There is no way of telling if the Pale Tree actually has this power. One could argue that a large chunk of Mordremoth’s power comes from the consumption of Ley energy, something the Pale Tree might not have access to.

But even so, as she considers the Sylvari to be her children, not minions, it would be pretty unethical of her to just replace them with a newer version. It sort of drains the emotional attachment.
