Sandboxy Guild hall idea
Yo, Ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die
I would vastly prefer that when they give us personal housing (as I strongly hope they one day will) that it is divorced from the guild hall system. Given the permissions issues to use decorations at all, the cost of guild decorations, and the at this time very limited architectural choice — not to mention the issue of what happens if you are no longer in the guild for whatever reason — I think it would be much better to have housing designed to be personal, flexible, and affordable.
I wonder why within an instance you could not code a defined space as its own instance w/out actually having to go through a load screen. It’s all coding right? Say for example a house in Salma district is its own defined space. Then you could vertically stack these defined space/boxes, and the house would eventually turn into a sky rise (limited height of course) If the box was given its own set of rules then you should be able to code it to stack multiple homes with multiple items on top of one an other. Given how huge the GHs are, one could imagine a way to have GHs also hold personal homes that individuals could decorate themselves and have ownership over. Building a home in a GH could be a gemstore started kit. If one leaves the guild your home would be demolished and all your items would be mailed to you. The place where your house sat would become a generic house available for someone else to claim. I would think an instanced area like a guild hall would be, maybe a better way to address this then the multiple 1000’s of players in open world status, but idk, an open world area where anyone can “View” your unique creative design style would be great too and Half the point I’d say is letting others see what you’ve done!

I would assume that the cost of guild hall decorations would be something similar to the cost of personal decorations for your home. Those two systems would be similar as a personal home would still be a gold sink.
but i’d like to see them scrap future guild hall ideas and push more towards personal housing or a marriage of the two better.

Even with the changes to scribing costs, some of the decorations are still aimed at guild scale resources, not individual pockets. That is only one small part of my objections to making personal housing dependent on guild membership, however. (And I say that as a guild officer who has almost all the permissions).
what… guildies are suppose to help you with the mats to decorate?
