Server problems at HOT launch
Zachelm Guardian of Time-Keepers: Timekeepers HQ
As far as I know there has never been one successful mmo launch in the past. Even gw2 crashed a couple hours after launch and the TP broke for over a month.
Expansions create issues as well. Don’t get your hopes up for being able to actively play all day from launch to night time. But it’s possible, fingers crossed

Not dropping like it’s HoT, yet…
I’m more worried about the lag.
Good thing I’m not skipping school for the day tomorrow
A lot of this could be avoided if they let us pre-download.
I’d like to mention that these forums are on the same server as the patches, so do not expect the forums to load quickly or most likely not at all at launch time, let alone through tomorrow as others around the world are able to log in and patch up.
Just wanted to mention this so people do not think the forums crashed when they try to browse them while attempting to patch.
On that note, if you happen to be writing on the forums when the patch hits, be sure to copy what you’ve written before submitting your comment as it will likely not go through and you’ll have lost what you wrote. Simply paste it into your comment box and try again until it succeeds if this happens.
Quick tip for those not into keyboard shortcuts:
CTRL+A selects all of your text
CTRL+C copies it
CTRL+V pastes it
Or you can simply highlight it all and then right-click > copy/paste.

It should really be expected at this juncture that the launch will be rocky to some degree, I can’t think of any MMO with smooth launches for their game and expansions since they never prepare for the amount of people downloading and playing at that time (likely since companies tend to go off pre-order purchases like XIV did, and account for that being their mark to hold, versus the day one people who purchase… which is hard to account for since it’s a lot of new players/returning players doing that who aren’t currently playing the game and counting into their statistics).
Either way, I’ll download it and see what happens. Hopefully it goes smoothly, but odds are there’ll be hiccups like with any game.
