Interesting. That may be where the datamined katana-style sword and dagger weapons will fit in. Sorry, too sleepy to cudgel my brain for the correct weapon terminology for those.

I suppose I see why they are going to keep fleshing out our Revenant info, especially with so many people having recently experienced Rev gameplay and thus having better context to understand the new spec. Still I am champing at the bit to learn more about Elite specs and now that is delayed at least one more week, along with the challenging group content. It is to sigh. /rueful look

I was trying to figure out what class could look like that and duel wield swords. Ranger is getting a Staff, Guardian is getting a Bow, that leaves Thief which that pic doesn’t make sense for.

He looks like some anime stereotype – angry long haired dude in trenchcoat with swords and crazy powers.

I’m glad that GW2 moved away from asian style.

As excited as I am about the new legend reveal for revenant, no idea why they won’t just finish elite spec reveals for current classes. Hopefully now that Rev is complete (only elite spec left) they will continue with the others…

Yeah… they’re really stretching this one out. Next week is probably Glint. Then maybe after another 9 week break we might get a specialisation… yeah I’m being a bit pessimistic… probably won’t me more than a 2-3 week break.

Didn’t he use 2 daggers? The weapons he used looked a lot like the greem item Shiro’s Daggers.

He was using daggers in GW1 because of technical limitations – there was no dual welding except for Assassin profession and that one had daggers at its disposal. Thats why Shiro’s daggers were so long.

Even though the thought of playing with Shiro’s crazy abilities sounds exciting, I think I’m one of the few who’s more excited to hear Shiro interacting with the player character. I would love to hear about or even get an account of Shiro’s life and the events involving his betrayal from his point of view with the human revenant even throwing in a bit of snark towards him.

I believe with the last round of data mining the OH dagger was changed to swords.

i just hope atleast the swords not gonna bomb then…like the staff does. If i compare the current skills to the one i got here on the picture id prefer the picture ones by far

Only Factions was in “asian style” so I wouldn’t say Anet was any more “asian style” than they were “african style” when they released Nightfall.

But Shiro was interesting. He lore-wise killed the player character (and the entire party) with ease. Fortunately, Shiro won’t be able to pass this ability on to Revenants.

Now we just need a Shiro Tagachi Outfit.

Somehow im not hyped anymore, when i should be. Shiro wont fix revenant and unless they bumbed up damage to 1000 in sword tooltips with 0.5 casttime rev still wont have much dps. Last time we have seen datamined sword skill damage was pathetic on them, lower than sword warrior.

I mean if that’s the case, HoT is also pre-Elona because of Mallyx, or pre-Shiverpeaks – though this is more of a possibility because of Jormag – because of Jalis.

More than a new fixed Legend focused on damage, what the Revenant need is more utility skills to choose and mix. At least 2 more for every legend, ideally 10 “not legend exclusive” ones.

And the whole game making more important/rewarding the supportive builds.

I do hope Shiro is interesting to play… but I just don’t see how a DPS Legend would help making the Revenant better: Even if Shiro is good, without making the supportive Legends more needed and effective, all we will get is a boring, shallow and endless amount of Shiros doing the same over and over and over…

Are you kittenimg kidding me anime is the best! or not, actually i was hoping firght with shiro agian, but is only a legend for the Revenant? man that profesion needs a lot of work, i mean it feels heavy and dont do any DPS damage, and sadly GW2 is alll about DPS…

If Shiro returns than please let Shiro change the landscape once more! It would be awesome to be part of such an event.

Yeah we shouldn’t blow this out of proportion, at most we’re getting a few skills and a few lines of dialog. I don’t even think it will factor into the plot of HoT.

Or maybe they be revealing Shiro now because of the negative feedback from the beta.

Negative feedback which really was unwarranted, but then I’ve done beta testing for a lot of MMOs with all that entails, so my expectations for an MMO beta are low, to say the least. More like unplayably broken, even in open-beta, for the first few weeks (which the invite stage had to deal with).

Sure Revenant damage was lackluster, largely due to ANet only giving us access to what they’ve announced in terms of compatible trait lines and spirits, rather than everything at once. Still, the class actually worked and wasn’t bugged to unplayability.

The only negative opinion I had of it was the lack of anything new to go and explore (and die), though getting a feel for the Revenant was nice. I actually had fun with it and played with some tuning.

It’s not late. The blogs have pretty much all come on Thursdays, at least regarding spec lines. So hold on for two more days …
