I’ve done every event chain. Well maybe not all in Tangled Depths cause I am not a fan of that map. So far Dragon’s Brand gave me the most exp from events if you start organized from the beginning of the map. And yet still I don’t think it’s enough. Some events take too long to complete and give the same rewards as some events that require 30 seconds to complete.
You do not have to grind to experience the content, especially now that poison resistance is not really needed.
There are hundreds of events out there, 4 different zones.
PLAY THE GAME, if you are doing 3 events over and over that is YOUR problem and SELF INFLICTED GRIND.
Stop grinding and play the kitten game.
I would say give a bunch of Hero points [100-200] (or the WvW coins) on first Story completion, so it´s much easier to get the first elite.

I am playing the game. Not even in a rush to finish my masteries. I’m totally for “Play the game, don’t chase the carrot”, just saying that some things should be more rewarding. I’m exploring, doing achievements and stuff, exp comes on it’s own. But not enough. I almost finished everything that I wanted to do in HoT maps for now and I’m not even close to unlocking fully a single mastery track xD So grinding of it is not evadable

SELF INFLICTED GRIND.
What are you talking about? You do have to grind events. It doesn’t matter if there are 3 or 300 events. You have to grind them. It’s an unnecessary amount of grinding. Especially for a game that claims to not be focused on grinding.
It’s not rocket science. Up the experience amount, reduce the unnecessary grinding time, everything else falls in place. I rather use skill, not extra time to earn advancement.
Anet made those events for a reason. It’s content you paid for. Why would they add content everyone skips? They made that mistake in core game and result is: that most of the events were ignored by the majority. Who wants that? Do all the 300 events, see stuff and you’ll get your exp.

How is doing unique events a grind? A grind means you are repeating the same thing over and over, killing the same mob over and over.
Doing countless unique events with different storylines, different bosses and challenges is not a grind. It is doing content in a game that you are supposed to play exactly for that, content.
You are playing the game, you are not grinding by doing events. By your definition anything but standing in LA is a grind.

I think the problem is that prior to this expansion, you had A LOT of choice. You had reputations to work on – so-and-so wants you to herd cows here while a guy over there wants you to kill a bunch of scorpions WHILE working on these, random events would pop up giving variety. You could do this in a ton of different zones within a few different maps and nothing was gated, locking you out.
Now we have to deal with NO reputations to fill. They’re gone. Events no longer feel random and fun, but they’re ongoing. In fact, much of the time, you can’t access that next vendor or teleportation spot unless someone has completed the right event chain in the past hour or so and kept it clear of enemies.
The game is different than it used to be. Me, I’m starting to get used to it, but I do miss the original design. This one feels like it’s keeping you on tracks. Tracks that you inevitably repeat while trying to advance.

This – is an issue for me on some Adventures. First, this is feedback coming from someone who loves HOT so far. But Arenanet please begin analyzing these complaints because they do point to some frustrating, restrictive design choices.
When Arenanet talked about Adventures, I thought they could be done at anytime. The very first adventure I found is tied to map progression- the issue Jack of Games is sharing in the above comment. It is in the Itzel area, a place I like. For rp reasons, I decided to hang out with the Itzel so I have done the area meta multiple times, spent a lot of time there. Kept going back to the adventure at different points, and it still was not available. It was not bugged, eventually I was able to do it-“once”. The problem was that all of the conditions were not being met by the “map.”
This is poor design. Adventures are presented as personal achievement oriented activities. There is even a Leaderboard and tracking of your stats. So you should be able to do those at any time and not have to depend on other players to “unlock” access to them.
