I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

So, was ArenaNet able to get all the original Hero Voice actors back in the studio to record new grunts and shouting for all the new Revenant skills?
How about for new specialization utility skills or class mechanics (like warriors statements as their adrenaline rises)?

I never assumed they left, after all, the living story has the voice actors in, right?
OP means the voice actors who did our characters’ shouts like “I could outrun a centaur!” and “I’ve made life! …. of a sort.” Presumably some Revenant skills will have their own signifying lines and will be voiced. I hope so. I know some people are annoyed by the shouts but I like hearing them and knowing a particular action has happened.
Certainly I’ve been alerted many a time to the need to help a downed person by hearing “A little help?” and the like. Yeah, that’s racial not profession, but the idea is the same, the audio cues help keep me informed.

Our characters (the 10 Hero Voices per supported language – male/female for each race) haven’t said a single new word since the game launched to the best of my knowledge. Its one of the things that made Living Story season one particularly lifeless.

hopefully this means we may get some dialogue from our characters that isn’t entirely text based with HoT story and, hopefully, living story beyond that. I’ve enjoyed making up a voice-over in my head (with additional personal dialogue) but an actual voice is nice all the same.

All those voice actors are still alive and working in the industry. Several of them have even continued working with Arenanet voicing various NPC’s. There’s no reason to doubt that revenants will have some new quips.
The English ones, yes. I don’t know the roster for the other languages supported by GW2 nearly as well .
It could happen. I’d like to hear from ArenaNet that it did happen.
Hehehehhh. They dodged the bullet – at least for Revenants. The revenant will make grunts and combat pronouncements based on the Legend they are invoking.
Doesn’t solve the Specialist issue, but it does deal with what would have been the most egregious example of not getting the actors back in studio.

Honestly, it isn’t THAT huge of a deal to swap voice actors. They did it in GW1 and aside from the first few cutscenes nobody really cared.
As long as your new VO is largely similar to the old one (no massive differences in pitch or accent) it’s a change that’s only mildly perceptable, and made less so with a little bit of massaging the audio.
I think everyone would rather have more voice lines, with the occasional “huh, that’s slightly different” than no new voice lines ever.
Some of us have a better ear for voices than others .
It annoys the hell out of me some of the hero voices actors also did a bunch of the NPC voices. I can’t NOT hear it’s the same person. You’d think the pool of available talent was a little deeper.

It’s worse when they have story dialogue in one voice, and when you talk to them outside the story, they use a generic racial voice. See the guy who works with the raptors in metrica, for one example.
