Ehh, okay. Not to disagree with you, but you’re about 8 months late with that nor does this specifically have to do anything with small guilds, but okay.

But I mostly agree. I still think that all these supposedly “new” boosts and “new” features aren’t really new features and should (have) be(en) accessible for non-HoT owners.

Aetherium just accumulates on its own so it is mainly favor that you need. Easy treks are soloable. Medium treks can be done with 2 people and hard trek takes 4(could be less but 4 is safer). Easy bounty can be done with 1 or 2 people. Once you get the first couple of easy upgrades out of the way you will be mostly bottleneck by the material requirements unless you are going to throw piles of gold at it but one of the reasons for the current system is because ANet didn’t want people to throw money at it and just buy their way through the whole thing.

I wouldn’t mind something to throw aetherium or favor at. now you’re talking about that. :p

You can buy some other stuff with favor. As far as I know there is nothing for aetherium which sucks for the mining rate upgrade.

I haven’t seen anything that Guild Favor can be traded for. Other than Guild Upgrades obviously.

If you go to the Guild Initiative Headquarters in LA and speak to Bartholemew Kangas the Guild Requisitioner you will find other items you can spend favour on.

Thanks, I found him yesterday. I should’ve realised it´s one of those Guild NPCs not in the guild hall.

The existence of those NPS’s (or rather, them missing in the actual guildhall) is a greatest mystery of the guild HoT revamp.

Actions, not words.

Hm, they probably don’t want to keep them around forever, and thus “hid” them for progression of the system.

But yeah, I would rather have them in the Guild Hall as well.

That particular NPC has been in there since HoT. It was just disabled for a while. In theory people would have seen it as they were preparing to get their guild hall and stuff …

Hence the quotation signs. I guess? I mean, it’s just a reason I’m making up that could potentially explain it.

Though now I think about it, everyone without a guild hall, either through not owning HoT or not having the means to, could spend their favour in there that they acquire but can’t/don’t want to spend otherwise.

Still doesn’t explain why they aren’t in the Guild Hall though. Definitely at some point they are quite handy in order to spend favor once you’re maxed out (or upgraded to a point where you don’t want to or can’t invest in other upgrades)

That area is also good for guilds that haven’t gotten to the guild hall stage yet.

The gold sink is the biggest problem.
Smaller guild with like 50, even if many are active, progress veeeeery slowly.

Depends how much effort each individual wants to put in the guild hall really.

We did it with a dozen people. And I can’t say we are progressing that slowly. Maybe because I prefer a fully done guild hall over yet another dozen sword skins which look not distinct enough to care about them. But that’s just me. I can’t see the point in getting all the skins when I can’t pick between them already xD

At some point it’s not about the size of the guild but the extent of guild activities. A handful of really dedicated guild members can get a guild hall up and running pretty quick. It might take all of their time, resources and then require them spending some rl money on it.. but size of guild isn’t holding them back.

A massive, mostly social guild where members aren’t on much, are in multiple guilds, don’t really care about any one particular guild having a hall, certainly aren’t going to give you all their mats and money.. they’d struggle despite being a massive guild.

Blame Abaddon, he loves your tears.

You guys are referencing “PvE guild farm grinding”

You have to consider guilds comprised of players doing mostly spvp and wvw.
Guilds designed around competitive activities don’t make squat.
The rewards in terms of gold are terrible for competitive game modes.

sPvP also has no expenses except for the 5 amulet unlocks which cost a total of 50g. Crafting the cheapest ascended item is around 70g.

On the bright side, the next version of the game can still be 2,
just add another G in front for Giant Guild Wars 2.

I remember when I could earn what I needed from simply playing the parts of the game I truly enjoy, and then use that favor to make buffs to help others.

The bitter cost of progress.
