With the smokescale dinosaurs, we have an enemy type with excessive evades. And that can be fair enough, if more than a little overtuned and frustrating at the moment. But why not make these blocks instead?

You’ve made a point of throwing out loads of unblockable effects on new skills, so why not put these to more use in PvE? It would be a great way to open up some rarely-seen counterplay and to make lesser-used skill types like traps shine.

Smokescales fade into the mists that surround them. If you try to touch them, they’ll fade away as if you tried to touch smoke, hence the evade, though miss would probably be better. Blocking isn’t what they do.

Simply force them to retreat from that mist so they won’t evade.

Problem is, you can’t force them to do anything. If you’re soloing one, step back and they’ll step out to follow you. Easy peasy. Done it, no problem.

It becomes an issue when they’re fixated on a stationary object like an NPC barrier or a turret. The ridiculous uptime means you’ll almost never hit them, and when you do, it’d better be with a stun or two so you can actually damage them.

I’m generally okay with the mechanic, too. But there needs to be a way to code so that they still take push/pull effects while not taking damage in the mist otherwise.

Many alts; handle it!

Yeah, when NPCs (or I suppose really bad players) get involved, these things are a pain. While fighting a veteran that had aggroed on some NPCs earlier, the normal smokescales it spawned with respawned about three times. Having no way to remove or move the thing from its smokescreen, I had to wait for the ever-so brief downtime to do any damage.

Maybe give it a break bar when in the smokescreen and somehow allow crowd-control effects through? Once broken, it could remove the current smokescreen and put it on a fair cooldown.

I always wind up getting downed by their ridiculous shadow step combo attack. Unless I have full endurance, I’m pretty much screwed when a veteran smokescale fires up that attack.

Those armadillos would be a lot cooler if they looked more like real armadillos. mmm armadillos
