Sneak Gryo for Engi
I can imagine many uses for it in PvP and WvW. Stealth stomps and revives, hiding numbers, stopping targeting in general.
Only fools and heroes charge in without a plan.
I think its a good idea, imo they should do something along these lines for both Thief and Mes as well.
It is more for sneaking. The side ability can reveal stealth enemies which is handy in PvP and WvW as well for those members facing Mesmers and Thiefs in stealth.

You want to give enemies a way to find two of the most glass classes during their main defense mechanic in addition to the reveals already present in this game lol? Thieves are already easy enough to push out of stealth and Mesmers just need one good cc and condition stack in many cases, making them basically visible all the time with something like engi gyro would just defeat the purpose lol.
Why is the gyro visible? Wouldn’t that defeat the point of trying to make the group invisible? Not that it mentions how long it lasts anyways.

The point that its visible is for counter play else it would potentially be way OP. This is a nice balance based on the concept that has been shared so far.

If the gyro isn’t getting aggro from mobs, this seems to be the best balanced stealth ability in the entire game so I have to agree.
Why are Shadow Refuge and Veil visible to enemies?
I highly doubt the Gyro will actually follow you around, as people seem to be assuming. It’s almost certainly a ground-targeted ability. Even if it does follow you, it’s still total immunity to single-target attacks, and the stealth will probably persist even after the gyro’s fuel expires.

If I recall correctly from the live stream demonstration, it did in fact follow the Scrapper and she was able to keep adding stacks of stealth. On the other hand the Jotun charged right at it to beat it up, which did give her one sneak attack.
except, if I see a sneak gyro I will be asking my backline to drop massive AOE damage around it !!! doesn’t matter how many players there are, they will be hurting long before they can follow through on any plans they had.

Its visible cause the fella pumps out 30 secs of stealth on a 30 sec cooldown. Is more meant to be a surprise bag of hurt. Whats under the gyro stealth? A scrapper for sure…but what is if he isnt alone?…Hmmm? Wanna risk it?
Also, the stealth gyro hard counters itself. See a stealth gyro? Put another scrapper within range of it and have them reveal.
But yeah, it being visible is fine, it’s more of a mobile shadow refuge than a true hiding tool. It’s more of a defensive measure for direct targeting skills or for aiding revives and stomps rather than being ‘true’ stealth that lets you go completely unnoticed.
