So this weeks announcement was that next week will be the WvW stress test, which means that next week there will be no new announcement cause….. stress test……

Just like with the beta week right?

Maybe I should try FFXIV, this game has just been getting me down lately, it can’t be healthy.

I will admit the expansion was announced so long ago and the amount of info they still need to go over I don’t see it coming out till December

We don’t know whether or not we will get news next week, we’ll just have to wait and see. Expect nothing and be pleasantly suprised when something does appear.

They way I see it is they announced it to try and keep players interested and keep them from leaving cause of lack of new content so they would have us believe that they have been working on this for awhile, while in reality they were still in the beginning and started throwing stuff together. I love the game and ppl but it’s starting to get stale doing nothing but the same stuff repetitively

Exactly this! The had the logo, green colour scheme and the promo vid ready back in Feb as that’s really as far in development as they went and there trying to push pre-purchasing to fund the rest of the team to finish the expansion…at least that’s the vibe i’ve been getting from them for a solid couple of weeks now!

I encourage you all not to be disheartened by the lack of content releases. When HoT was planned, Arena Net released a projected profit increase that fell in line with a pre-purchase/release purchase of HoT. That profit projection was slated for the third quarter of business sales. The third quarter is the months of July, August, and September. I know that Anet still has a lot to reveal but have resolve that Anet will deliver of HoT.

We just have to support Anet in this time and be surprised when it does get released. If you need a break for GW2, Anet is not holding a gun to your head. Just be sure to come back and enjoy the new content.

But that’s just the thing, if I find another MMO to play and get really hooked on that, I won’t have much of a care at all for when HoT releases. This isn’t some great expansion that is going to bring people in by the dozens. If there is something better that people find to play in the meantime and then they like that better, why come back to GW2?

Support them? They are not a victim in this situation and I have so many fears about HoT flopping big time, it’s really a shame.

Oh, I log in everyday to GW2 as well, for one minute to get my daily chest, then I log out. So what do I have to lose?

Yeah, now I just log in, WvW daily a bit and I’m out. There really isn’t a need to stress over something we all know won’t be coming anytime soon and it’s really a headache to have to listen to “It’s coming soon™” so many times before it becomes a problem. I’ve been playing expansions of other games (Tera, FfXIV) in the mean time.

Hate to say it, but I told you so…

So maybe 10% of the player population gets into a stress test for WvW the rest of us just wait for more nothing (maybe ANet will prove me wrong this week but probably not)

200+ employees at ANet and wow, this stress must be something huge cause they are too busy to announce anything worthwhile this week (second week now with no big announcement)

Good luck ANet, this ship is sinking fast.

But they already have their money and made their projected profits through pre-purchase. There is no rush or any incentive at all to actually launch the expansion, they already have the money.

I suspect a December release is pretty likely the earliest we’ll see it.
