So Over the Map closing In HoT
Just to back you up, I’ve only (mostly) been working the Verdant Brink and Auric Basin maps, but I get the popup to change maps and I seem to end up in a less populated map. I get it anet – it’s not easy to balance these maps. Tell us that and let us know you are working on it. Otherwise it looks like it makes NO sense. C’mon, we pay for this
I have learned to never accept the request to change. It always moves you to a less populated map in my experience. I learned this way back with the marionette event. However when it forces a map change in the middle/end of an event is not only frustrating but needs to be addressed and fixed. BTW, the only time I use it now is when I farm material or the event is over. It does come in handy when farming.

I was in DS last week. A fresh map, people started gathering and shortly after the meta started, the dreaded messages popped. I was in a squad, and we’d just started, so, I switched and switched back.
The meta advanced nicely, and we got to the end phase. Exactly one hour after the message popped, the map closed (so we had still almost one hour on the clock left!). Everybody got dumped in an hour-old map, without any progress.
And an hour of my time wasted….
I’ve seen the popup in DS while at the towers, I’ve seen the popup in Harathi with 50+ people killing the boss.
At the other end of the scale I’ve had ‘server full’ trying to taxi into DS 30 SECONDS after the map spawned.
Broken tech. is broken tech.
Also, talking about DS closing why the hell does it kick everyone out before it resets. Every other map can be organised before-hand and as soon as it resets we can begin, with DS this can’t be done because the map closes and forces everyone to other maps and it’s NEVER the case that a squad stays together, let alone the three needed for a map meta.
I’d love to know why someone if Anet thought with was a Good Idea, because it isn’t, it’s moronic with no benefit to players it only makes it more of a PITA getting a ‘good’ map than it would be otherwise.

Yea for the most part I just ignore it now, unless I know the map I’m in has nothing.
Well they supposedly fixed this, but Not good enough. Doing AB today 3 commanders on map. Getting all the events done at Tier 3. Then the pop up comes, This map has to few people do you wish to volunteer to move maps. Well as one who did Dragon Stand a couple of times and had that come up and ignored it only to have the map close as we were fighting and Winning against Mordremoth. I said yes. It should have put me in a map that had SOMETHING. No instead a T0 map with not a commander or other person to be found. HOW IS THIS A BETTER MORE POPULATED MAP!!!!!
I really have been trying to like the new content, but really I have no fun doing it. It is like pulling teeth to do it and then when I finally try to get further on achievements or anything. Things like this happen.
The worst thing is that you loose all your participation % for the map if you choose to switch maps. If you stay you will get ported out in 1 hour. Happend to me a few times in DS in front of Modremoth…..
I don’t get why we must pay 1 silver for DS waypoint everytime the map resets whether we won the meta or lost.
gaem not made for mi

Chose to move to a more populated map, end up in a less populated one, and lose progression; yes, this happens 100% of the time.

Yeah, I normally don’t mind changing maps when the population gets low. But nothing is worse when you have a great participation level and then get ported to a new map and are back to zero %. I wonder if they could fix that?
