So are Bloodbound Weapons priced incorrectly?

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Faction_Provisioner
Bloodbound Weapons are purchased from Faction Provisioners for 250 Provisioner tokens, which take a specific level 80 item to get, and can only be done once/day/provisioner. There are 12 provisioners, meaning this is a 20 day timegate for 1 exotic, even if it does scale with level.
For comparison, they also sell Gift of Craftsmanship, which will be required for Legendary armor, for 50 tokens. Even if all 6 pieces of armor require a Gift of Craftsmanship, that’s still only 300 tokens (for the entire set) vs 250 tokens for a single weapon.
Seems to me like someone put an extra 0 on that price for some reason. 3 days timegate & ~8g makes a whole lot more sense imo, when you consider the utility of the item is only there for training alts. As it stands, it would take less time to grind (or even farm tomes for) an alt to 80 than buy that alt a Bloodbound exotic FOR that grind.

They do seem excessively high for a convenience item.

I REALLY hope you don’t need 300 for the Legendary set, the irritation of accessing the traders to get 50 of these was enough xD

Yeah, but I see it happening because it’s basically a 30-day timegate which kind of makes sense for Legendary armor.
I mean, in bizarro-world where timegates make sense in the first place.
I imagine now that you brought this up, the gift will now cost 500 tokens

I’m actually fine with time gating, but this required events completed and bag slots used up for many items. It was just the most annoying thing to do, fingers crossed it doesn’t need 300 :x

So in order to have the provisionner token, you have to craft each day a complete set of weapon & armor.
Then bring them to many NPC across Hot map which will take many slot and we are forced to do that.
I was fine with a lot of timegate but this time this is going too far; this is the exact same kitten that the orphan from wintersday but with an tenfold annoyance level.
No thx Anet, won’t do that kitten.

I’ve been working on these. They got so annoying that I bought a permanent TP for 500g just so I could do it without the headache lol.
If I need 300 of these I probably won’t bother. 50 is annoying enough

Yeah, now imagine doing 250 for 1 exotic weapon.

They are rare weapons, not exotic.
It would probably be easier to make/buy a rare for every ~5th level for an alt.

I was just going by what I read (rare rarity with exotic stats) but I checked the stats on the wiki and you’re totally right.
A RARE weapon with NO new skin that scales with your level and has NO utility after leveling: a 21 day timegate and 80g?
?? Anet what?
Your team spent real time developing this content and you somehow hid it behind the most ridiculous amount of work of almost any item in the game.
It would probably be easier to make/buy a rare for every ~5th level for an alt.
Yup it’d be easier AND cheaper. Bloodbound weapons aren’t even a convenience because you have to take the time to buy 250 gear pieces off the TP. It’s less work to buy 80 rares before/while leveling than it is to BUY the gear to get the bloodbound weapon in the first place, not even taking into account the runaround and timegate.
