So how many Revenants...
I wish they would just reveal the Revenant already!
Though I think they’ll only reveal them after they finish with the bulk of Mastery, Stronghold, and Guild Hall reveals. After those are done, we’ll likely get the Revenant first, then all the specializations with the Revenant specialization last.
Prove me wrong Anet! Reveal Revenant next week.
Might not even make one till i see what it is exactly.
My top priorites:
Sword Ele (Just so much yes if this is a thing)
Rifle Mesmer (Heheh…Utility sniper so much fun)
Hammer Engie (Loving the explosiveness and the drones…o yes the drones)
Shield Necromancer (Might see some Defensive capabilities as well as more Torment)

Not to burst any bubbles, but they already confirmed Necro’s specialization weapon is Greatsword, hehe. Mesmer is Shield.
Soooo looking forward to the Engi Specialization though, hammer time!
I will be creating a Revenant as soon as possible (new main incoming). Rit was my main in GW1 and this is as close as I am going to get to my loved profession. I have been wanting this for the last 2 1/2 years.
I’m right there with Icy Death. Ritualist was my main for many years and I’ve wanted it back for a long time. Revenant is looking like a close second for me. While I’ve loved playing Guardian as my main for this long… something tells me Revenant will replace it.
I’m stockpiling stuff, getting ready.
Sufficient tomes, time gated mats (deldrimor ingots and spiritwood planks) made and commendations to get an accessory saved.. I’m planning to run her to Orr and get temple armor then transmute to the look I’ve already picked out. Name is picked out and reserved on an alt. Race (Sylvari) face, hair and glow already decided.
Come on ANet. I’m waiting!!!

Yeah, but that was only 1 spec =P Greatsword Necro doesnt really sound all that amazing U.U Also hoping they dont just leave mesmer with a shield (Bleh, 1 actual skill and 1 phantasm…Wanting 5 new skills)
And hell yes to Engie xD
I wanna know what gaurdian specs are gonna be, I want a longbow or a rifle.
I think I will probably try out the Guardian specialisation and new content first. After a couple of days i may insta-level myself a revenant and try that out to. Hoping to make a rev my main alt, though hoping that the Guardian specialisation will add enough spice to keep guard as my main
Guardian / WvW Enthusiast
I’ve like 300 tomes in bank but i’m not sure 100% i will use them on revenant to get an instant 80. It depends on many things, mastery points, precursor collection and specializations for other classes first of all, so i can evaluate to do a 100% map completion with the new prof without using tomes.
Dunno, we’ll see.
Am I the only one thinking, “not enough info”? All I’m doing is stacking tomes, skill points, and mats for the eventual need of them. Then trying to get as many account unlocks done as I can before the new content overwhelms it all.
The real question is…
How many Demolishers? Y’know, the Engineers wielding explosion-hammers. Well, Specs might take a while… ;_;
Zerker what else….
About guardian new specialization?
something like “The Guardian’s Path” from diablo 3, or a knife, vines that dont burn need to be cutted >_>

Say, about those revenants…
New professions, historically, have come with new lands/cultures. These professions were new to the player, but not new to the game world, and, at least as primary professions, were specific to their region of origin. No Canthan paragons, for example, or Elonian ritualists.
If Rytlock is indeed the first revenant, then this is a profession not only new to the players, but new to Tyria as well. So… how will new revenants come to be? Will Rytlock train them all? Or train a train of trainers to train others? Will knowledge of how to be a revenant be ‘gifted’ to various individuals by the grace of the gods? Which gods?
Who what when where how and of course why not Boromir?
Well, he could teach some and they would in turn teach others. But remember, every single player character is represented by only one character story wise, the pact commander.
Because all of you know this will come.
“Everyone is playing a Revenant
Therefore, Revenant is an OP class.”
“Everyone wouldn’t be playing it if it wasn’t OP”
“They do more damage than eviscerate”
“I was 2 shot by a revenant”
“Revenant has too many tools”
1:build a male human revenant
2:find nearest bank
3:grab my tomes knowledge scrolls and gear out of that bank
4:80 revenant with full exotic
5:set the preplanned skins for my revenant onto that armor
6:go to eotm and buy every single trait
7:look at my traits and weapon skills
8:pick traits
9:buy every weapon revenant can equip and sigils for each
10: log onto my ele and check out its specializations
11: log onto my alts and check their specializationsany questions?
Am I allowed to do the exact same thing as you at launch ?
Going to make a female charr revenant, and hope mordremoth chooses me, as his knight in corrupt armor. long live the elder dragons!

It’s been confirmed that there’s only one specialization per class at the expansion’s launch
Well, this is all very disappointing. I thought the continuation of the thread title was going to be ‘…does it take to change a lightbulb?’
Disappointment aside, it seems like the answer to that unasked question would be: Too kittenen many. The fact that one half of the “balance team” helped to design it, is also worrisome.
…
Ranger | Necromancer | Warrior | Engineer | Thief
Level 20 scroll, check.
60 Tomes of Knowledge, check.
PVT ascended heavy, done.
Zerker ascended heavy, done.
Almost every ascended zerker weapon, done.
133/200 scrolls of knowledge.
Now I just need gold to buy up mats for the new legendary weapons.
Still need a name though. Will probably use my GW1 ritualist’s name.

I suggest to add celestial and rabin to that list.
Firstly I’m gonna upgrade my main Guardian. Secondly i will make (and play) a Revenant. Win win situation.
will most likely have a few running around. An Asura and char to start with. Though don’t get me wrong am excited about the specializations and new legendary weapons as well. A lost of new content to get to. Sadly no new race or weapons but New ways to customize the characters you have and a new profession.
there’s definitely going to be tons day one, like in any MMO when they introduce a new class or race. everyone’s gotta play with the new toy (me included)! after a few months, everyone will be used to it and decide if they like it or not, and the numbers will thin out to match the other classes.
Will be playing Revenant on the day it is released, I won’t be rushing the new Character unless I need to for any reason.
I’ll be one of those people running around on a Revenant.
Just make sure that Revenants have a skill called Spirit Rift, like GW1, and it’ll be my new main.

Well thats a dumb move and also very depressing to hear.
Oh, just be sure to put char slots on sale either just before or during HoT release.
I guarantee you will rake in the Gems.

as many as the amount of hamburgers died in the room before
Looking forward to the Revenant!! Normally play Warrior or Ranger, but looking for something new to try.
The Revenant is quite different from both the guardian and the warrior professions. Think a darker heavy armor class that imbues magic and power of the mists into it’s attacks, along with drawing power from past legends.
I’m hopeful the clips we’ve seen of the Revenant holding a fist aloft as a massive dragon made out of mist energy materializes behind him is an Elite Skill.
Because if that’s a utility they may not be over-powered, but they’re already pushing the boundaries of over-awesome .
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
