1. Anet needs to stop being silent on the HoT pricing issue like it’s going to go away. This is a huge PR bungle and being silent just kittenes people off and alienates them more.

2. Either explain how the expansion contains loads of top-tier content and is worth the money or drop the price to something more palatable. Fifty bucks is worth it if it delivers on quantity and quality. If not, thirty bucks is the top end price. I’m thinking a WoW-type of expansion for fifty bucks. If a price drop is warranted, decouple the base game with the expansion and charge separately.

3. Give a character expansion slot with the base package.

4. Reward the veterans and/or cash shop supporters with some bling.

I don’t begrudge Anet making money. But give us some value. Based on the info we have now, this xpac doesn’t hold up when compared to competitors like WoW or Final Fantasy xpacs. This IS a AAA MMO is it not? LOTRO tried the less content and higher priced xpac approach with each successive xpac. It didn’t work out well for them.

I don’t know for me only easiest way yo solve this is.

- Allow exist player to access all HoT feature when upgrade their game to Deluxe edition.

- All people who already have GW2 Deluxe edition or highter version deserve to unlock HoT expension for free.

- People who already have GW2 and already buy HoT should reward by Gem / Extra Slot…

Could you imagine the impact on the game’s economy if every player is simultaneously being given 8000 gems? Or any of the absurd number of gems that these threads keep suggesting.

That won’t happen, its also unrealistic. The are a company, they may be shady in the way everything went down but they still need to make money. I don’t think it is currently worth $50 let alone $100 but hoping for free is just not going to happen.

It should be more realistic if they make vanilla GW2 become F2P before charge us with 50$ expansion and tell people GW2 is free which we all know it’s not true.

Yeah while it should be like what you said but they didn’t do it for unknown reason.

I’m sticking with leaving everything as it is and adding a HoT Vanilla for $35. If you want or need a character slot, just get it thru the gems store for $10.
