Unless they disable chronomancer, dragonhunter, reaper and tempest during the next beta test these classes will have had more testing than the others. Arenanet probably won’t do this since more testing = less bugs.
Will each class get an equal amount of beta’s or are Arenanet’s favourite classes getting more attention?
So what? They are not giving more beta’s to their favorites they are just including the ones that are ready for the public. Even if they were favoring others more testing means more stable, sure you could say that means the less shown ones will be less stable, but if they’re not done.. they’re not done.
This is really a none issue.

As more events go they will add more classes to test new things with, they are just giving them to us as and when they have made progress with them and feel that the consumer should try it out and see if it works how they intended it to.

And if more people try out the new Specializations offered next time, because they had already tried out the currently offered ones, does that make them the new favorites?
I thought it was common forum knowledge that Warrior was ArenaNet’s favorite class, anyway? Where’s the logic in that? Lol.

It’s pretty obvious Anet prefers warrior/ele/guardian (and recently mesmer too) above the other classes. That’s why i’m surprised to see necro this time instead of warrior.
By having less beta testing for engineer/ranger/thief, Arenanet basically admits that they do not care much for these classes.
Also I’m tired of people justifying this mistreatment by saying: “It’s still unfinished”. If all that stuff is still unfinished Arenanet and everybody else can forget about that 2015 release.

Well, at least warriors can rightfully say that they are alpha as kitten right now.
It happened with races at launch. Who cares? The job of the company is to make the game and get it released. It’s not to provide equal time in beta for every profession.
There have been a lot of petty complaints on these forums but this has to be one of the worst.

Saying ANet has “favourite class(es)” is like saying a particular raindrop fell on you during a rainstorm because it hates you personnally.
ANet is a company with a lot of people doing a lot of different task. It having a preference as a whole toward a class is beyond ridiculous.
A class getting something good isn’t “preference”, it is basic game developpement. Get over it.
And about this 2015 release: no release date, or even window, was ever mentionned. For the exact reason they where too far from release to get any prediction on it. Some specialization being unfinished is exactly what we should expect at this point.
That beta events are going on and aren’t specific invite only, developments have hit the stage meaning that it will be released soon enough, within six or so months.
Note that specific invite means that they personally emailed you and invited you. Pre-order invites are a staple of MMOs.

Such a non-issue … I don’t see a problem here.

Arenanet has actually confirmed a release in 2015.
(I agree with the rest of your reply though)

This has to be said everytime the game has beta’s we as a community can participate in, but I’ll say it again.
The purpose of a beta is NOT for us to have fun and enjoy the upcoming content (in this case the Xpac)!
The purpose is to test stuff. As specialisations are not the things needed to be tested, it does not matter for the purpose of the beta.
Off course that doesn’t mean you are not allowed to have fun and enjoy the upcoming content. That is a very pleassant side effect. Just stop mixing purpose and side effect up!

We are meant to have fun whilst testing though! They tell us to!

They’re not going to disable professions for the beta. And unless they disable ranger they’re not going to stop me from playing it, elite spec or no elite spec that’s what I’ll play and that’s what I’ll test content on.

They literally said they are committing to a 2015 release.
