Some thoughts on my Beta experience

To start with the positive. It is breathtakingly beautiful. It is also very dangerous area. The levels are very complex and I could certainly wander around for hours just to try and reach all the different places. Bravo art design team!

I played a revenant and between getting used to the new skills and utilities and the different creatures/mobs trying to kill me, it was a struggle at times. I am sure that will come as I become more experienced and level through. I love the hammer over the mace and axe but then I love the hammer on my guardian so it’s a thing for me. I do plan on creating a revenant because I enjoyed it so much.

Now to the minor somewhat negative feedback. The masteries were kinda convoluted for me. I got my 2 mastery points. I went to start which path I wanted and thought I had selected Gliding…but halfway through the first session, I realized that it did not take my selection and so lost all the experience that I had fought through. Once it was selected, I didn’t have enough time to get enough points to get the gliding.

I really think that the bar should fill from fighting and then something should pop up and say where should it be applied. I had a friend that didn’t even know to click on the bar so also lost the opportunity to try out the mastery. I believe this should change because losing progress is not cool.

Mastery problems aside, I look forward to the revenant being more fleshed out to give us even more options and traits. It is a cool class so far and am eager to play. I will definitely buy the expansion and most of our small guild will too.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to beta test this. I helped beta test GW2 from first open betas and it was great to be once more included. I did find a portal in the SW which made me very happy.
