Will the jeweler and chef crafting professions finally advance to the 500 level during this expansion, and if so will the recipes for new legendaries includes gifts that require 500 in a crafting profession?

Honestly I expect these to show up in the April feature patch… assuming we are still getting an april feature patch.

The delay in implementing these is very odd. We’ve had the mats in place for almost two years now yet not a single word about these 2… We were supposed to get legendary trinkets along with 500 jewelcrafting in November of 2013…. I think they may have just forgotten about these.

Honestly, even if they did, why would you bother?, easier to do 4 fractals 3 days, than grind the kittened amounts of materials the accessories/rings etc will need.

The term Exploit means nothing in GW2 –

-Particle effects
-Stat combinations
-Legendary trinkets
-Don’t like fractals

Those are the 4 most obvious reasons, but I’m sure there are more.

- trinkets dont give off particle effects, being able to craft ascended ones will not change that.
- you can buy most stat combinations either from the fotm merchant, laural vendor, or from the ones added from the ls, by playing/buying from sw vendor
- nothing has been said on legendary trinkets afaik (could be wrong) and making it possible to craft ascended rings wont change that.
- you can use laurels or badges and ectos (iirc) from wvw laurel vendor (not sure i dont rly wvw)

That said, another way of getting ascended trinkets is always welcome

I could see cooking and jeweler going to 500 with this expansion pack.
Find new food types to cook with and new jewels to make things with.

I guess if you want to argue over a technicality then sure, trinkets don’t. The jewels inside them do though. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Preserved_Queen_Bee

Crafting Trinkets would allow players to get beyond the time gate of waiting on Laurels and would function like armor and weaponcrafting time wise. Trinkets being the only non-craftable ascended gear is just odd, let alone the fact that you cant salvage the ones you get currently.

okay, so a couple give particle effects, but i doubt that it will be those very few that will be the ones you can craft. Thsoe seem more like the kind that are rare and special drops. and no i didnt know about those, next time jsut gimme a link so i can actually check, tyvm.

Like i said, i have nothing against them being craftable, the more ways to get them the better, i was jsut pointing out something about those “obvious reasons” thats all. I dont really care whether they add it or not, but its always great for another way to get stuff.

I don’t understand why Anet spends all this time making these special particle effects for gems, which can’t be slotted into ascended equipment…

Maybe 500 crafting would allow us to slot statless gems into ascended equipment giving us access to these cool effects.

Actually trinkets do give off particle effects: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Poly-luminescent_Undulating_Refractor_%28Black%29
People are talking about legendary trinkets… They were mentioned sometime before, not sure if by a dev or just speculation, but its a rumour that’s been going on around 2 years now.
I agree… For the most part crafting ascended gear isn’t really worth the effort/money spent… But sometimes you just do what you’ve got to do.

That said, its sad that my engineer (its my jewler/cook) is the only of my first 4 characters to be stuck with 400 crafts. (Because he’s an engineer he should be more crafty) but the way that laurel vendors and guild vendors are setup, i don’t see why or how they’d add jewlery craft for ascended gear without it being either made too easy to be equal to the cost of purchasing them from the NPC or simply just OP/only for shinny effects.

Laurels are time gated pretty severely when you compare them to ascended crafting mats. Guild commendations are dependent on how active your guild is and if they want to participate in guild events in the first place. I’m not saying neither option is not doable, but that crafting them would be easier for some players. Having more options to get ascended gear is never bad since they don’t really affect the market (outside the mats required to make them).
