Tempest is getting the short end of the stick

I’m surprised Berserker is so low. I feel that if the poll asked us to put them in rank order, it would move further up. It’s not the most exciting thing, but it’s a solid trait line that actually has synergy with the class as a whole… which is more than Tempest and Dragonhunter can say.

Looks like people are most excited for Reaper. Doesn’t surprise me. It’s a great spec.

That’s because it sucks. We’ve had a close range support spec for 3 years already. On top of the bad concept, the implementation is also bad to the point where there’s almost no reason to use the spec mechanic. Even the animations look silly.

I’m more concerned with average time it takes to fully unlock it, but its a close tie between Reaper and Herald.

Tbh if I was to rank them in order Berserker would be pretty darn low, was not impressed at all by it in the last beta. Overall just felt extremely clunky and not terribly rewarding for using the berserk mode. :-/

Spot on. Unless something major happens to the spec, Tempest is going to suck.

results are not too surprising, pretty close to the anecodtal results from the other thread. might have been interesting to see a poll of players’ top 3 specs.

I think you answered your own question. Berserker may be solid elite but its essentially just another way for the class to do DPS and thus not much of a change from the core mechanics. Druid and Chronomancer play entirely different from the core classes and could have been marketed as a completely new profession, thus the excitement to play them.

Also, I haven’t looked at all of the elites but it seemed pretty apparent that the Devs realized which professions needed the most help (Ranger, Mesmer, Necro, Engineer) and thus made a conscious effort to give these classes more of a buff in the expansion relative to the other classes (Warrior, Ele, Guard).

I’m a bit surprised at the Druid support (20%). o_O

Considering the community’s kneejerk reaction to “git gud no helz” and “zomg not wow trinity stahp”, I would’ve assumed a healing-heavy spec to get thrust to the bottom. (Right on top of Dargonhurrdurr.)

I got my biggest squees from Reaper and Herald, though.

The only reason Chronomancer isn’t higher is because Mesmer is in a great place right now.

Scrapper because Engineer am bestest profession.

berserker was so bad in BWE2. we have high hopes for it, but it was awful

I voted for herald because I’m super hyped to switch my main to Revenant. However, I’m really glad Reaper is getting a lot of votes. Easily my second favourite elite spec. It’s got a great design behind it.

This was a hard choice for me, as Reaper, Herald, and Druid were all neck and neck for my vote, and I’ll actually be using them on my three most-played characters. But ultimately, I just had to give it to the Reaper. Shroud Knight is an even more fun version of what is already, in my opinion, the coolest and most fun profession mechanic, and that Greatsword is the only fun weapon in the Necromancer’s tool box.

Not a huge fan of any of them, really.
Ranger is the only class I generally play and I’ve virtually no interest in Druid as it stands.
DragonHunter (name aside) would be the one I’d likely prefer the most, but I don’t even have a Guardian.
Berserker seems like a good upgrade for Warrior and Reaper was at least alright for what I played of it, though neither really feel that exciting.

Will likely roll a Revenant though I don’t really plan to play it much. Herald kind of seems like a must though since it has the perma-swiftness, so I guess I’ll go with that.

Well considering it doesn’t even have an elite skill, has numerous synergy and implementation issues beside it’s lack of originality, and that we are 1 month away from release I would say that was predictable.

The community reaction is selectively biased in two ways. First, people who don’t like the druid are more likely to say something. Second, people who do like the druid aren’t as likely to say something due to the hostility of the druid haters. After all that, a lot of people are looking forward to all that healing.

Personally, what I’m looking forward to the most is a tie between the reaper and the daredevil.

Reaper: It is full of so many things the necro wanted. A melee shroud, a weapon with good utility and damage, and a trait line that is mouth-watering. The shouts are meh, and I feel like I’m trying to force them into builds instead of actually using them, but nobody is perfect.

Daredevil: A lot is in flux with this class ATM, but once polished I’ll pick it up and never put it down. This is the only elite spec where I like everything: utilities, traits, weapon, and theme. It has a lot of things that the thief needs, and if I’m doing the numbers its damage should be sick.

I’m really interested in both Scrapper and Reaper, but I don’t have enough information to say one over the other right now as a preference.

I want to try them all, but atm, Engi is my main and I will go with scrapper, though my vote is for all.
