Specializations
Im pretty sure he knows that he is speculating on future specs after HoT release. Also yeah a minstrel would be cool but what weapon would you give it?
Mesmer new specializations has already been announced ‘chronomancer’.
they said there would be multiple specializations for each profession in the future

Mesmer could go that route, with that theater vibe and all. But couldn’t ranger also go with the bard theme as well?
Crystal Desert
I’d be down for bard for ranger. A supporty kind of role.
Haha… with ideas I read so far above (Mesmer – Minstrel, Ranger – Bard), they could theme a whole expansion around that…. GW2: the musical. Each profession gets an elite musically themed specialization, new weapons (“the instrument collection”), foes are now armed with tomatoes and rotten eggs, new combat mode: tune you play determines how much damage you do to your foe, success depends on how many tones you hit correct while dodging tomatoes and rotten eggs

Hahah no thanks. I would just pick one of the other. Minstrel or bard. #too much.
Bard Mesmer with Kits as instruments.
To be honest though. I would rather they fix minion A I. First before adding specialization. I want to be minion mancer god dang it.
Specializations I would like to see:
Ranger – Poacher – Rifle
Thief – Pirate/Corsair Captain – No new weapons, but receives Shouts. Be the first support medium armor.
Warrior – Martial Artist – Staff – Medium Armor – Additional Physical Skills
Guardian – Sunspear – Change staff skills into “Spear of Light” skills, similar to how
Necromancer staffs take the appearance of Scythes. Gain wide area aoe buffs via Stances.
Elementalist – Arcane Trickster – Gain Tricks or Deceptions.
Elementalist – Mage Knight – Gain Medium Armor. This is a bit different from gaining new weapons, why not mix up armor availability? Gain Shouts.
Mesmer – Minstrel – I love this concept and it could utilize kits very well, making “weapons” out of magic devoted to different musical concepts and tones, blasting foes with discordant sounds, taunting them soothing melodies, wracking them with torment with sharp musical tones.
Engineer – Battlefield Mechanic – Gains Heavy Armor – Physical skills
Engineer – Technomancer – Light Armor – Arcane skills
Necromancer – Deathknight – Heavy Armor – Mace – Shouts – Similar to mace wielding Guardian, simply the opposite. Offensive Shouts, and punishing blocks, Wells on the mace instead of symbols.
The new Elite Specializations open a HUGE world of possibilities without having to introduce new classes and balance them. I love the introduction of Elite Specializations over new classes.
For all my ideas I tried to work within the constraints ANET set for themselves by not introducing new skill keywords, and simply utilizing whats in the game.
Remember guys there are some weapons that aren’t in this game.

I can see a Fan weapon added to the game.
- Mesmer using Fan as the art in the Profession section
- Elementalists using fan to control the elements like Avatar Kyoshi
- Thief using a Fan in a Geisha assasin style -

Sadly there is already a Fan skin for focus weapons so i doubt it will be added as a seperate weapon type

ANet shattering my dreams since 28/08/2012
I think Minstrel for mesmer could work with giving it warhorn and conjured weapons. Kits dont sound very magical, so i’d think conjure skills would fit great in conjuring all different type of musical weaponry
I’d like to see:
Class > Specialization > Weapon > Brief Description
Mesmer > Minstrel/Bard > Lute/Warhorn > Control the battlefield with powerful music
Elementalist > Spellsword > Sword/Axe > Enchant your weapons with the elements for different effects
Necromancer > Undertaker/DeathKnight > 2handed Axe > Uses brute strength to overcome enemies and control their souls for a short while after death. . Would have the same mechanic as a normal ranger pet)
Engineer > MechWarrior > 1handed Hammer > Uses superior mechanical skills to build powerful Mobile Turrets and War-machines to lead the charge in battle.
Ranger > Sniper > Rifle > Can utilize the environment to take cover and fire off powerful long distance rounds. Taking cover grants stealth as long as no action is taken and the Sniper remains still.
Thief > Delete > I hate Thieves > Thieves should be removed from the game… I hate thieves.
Warrior > Dragoon/ Lancer > Landspear/Halberd > Uses quick and accurate long reaching strikes to devastate opponents. Also is able to remain extremely mobile on the battlefield through jumps, thrusts, and sprints.
Guardian > Monk > Bowstaff > Highly trained in advanced hand to hand combat. Can overcome his opponents through discipline and focus. The Monk becomes Centered while in combat. The longer a fight takes, the more Centered he becomes until he reaches Enlightenment. Once enlightened, The monk deals more damage, takes less damage, and all his attacks shoot medium distance pulses of light energy, for a short while.
Revenant > who knows.
