I still can’t see how this is any different from any other balance change. The last patch destroyed turret engineers. Not altered, destroyed. Should I, as an engineer, start whining? ‘I made gear for my turret engineer and now it’s useless, let me reroll my stats!’ Using the same logic you people do.

And you know what was special in the last patch? Only one thing was altered – engineer’s turrets. Most of the other balance patches would leave 4-8 professions demanding stat reroll. At which point – wouldn’t it be easier just to ask Anet to remove stats from gear and give us PvP amulets for each game mode?

1 – The official dev response was that we don’t have enough information to claim that we need compensations
2 – The WvW example is a bad one since they didn’t reset after a “balance”, they reset after a new skill is added, just when a long time ago Magic Find status was removed from gear, all gear had the option to pick another stat of your choice once, so if ANet see that a compensation is needed, they will do it.

The one thing that they could do, that SWTOR did was have “mods” “armor” and “enhancement” if I recall correctly.

You can not craft the best armor in SWTOR, it is done by raids. What they should do here is “OK here is your ascended gear, you can take the armor, mod and enhancement out (so the gear has 0 stats) and craft more armors mods and enhancements”

Essentially it is the pieces of said armor that you can throw in other gears to make them have stats.

If your thread was locked then remaking it is a good way to get banned.

I remade the thread as it didn’t tackle the original questions, if this one gets locked too I’ll stop bothering.

I take the point that there isn’t enough information out there yet, I just wanted to express that as someone who travels for work a lot, it was a real ordeal to make my ascended armour, so I would prefer the option to change it’s stats than to remake it if the new trait system means that I can’t continue following the same playstyle. I’m happy to game game gold to do it, I just don’t want to sit there are have to choose poor fitting gear, or to grind a whole new set.

I think that ANet is looking at it and thinking in a solution, if one isn’t found then a system similar to the Magic Find will probably be added.

In the end I think that any build can be updated by simply adjusting the trinkets and even if you use ascended ones it is pretty easy to get new ones, like builds that depended of the Vit on their zerke build will be able to get some valk trinkets (currently the zerk/valk one) and since the stats from gear will rise the loss will be balanced back and your build will keep the same.
