There’s been inflation of about 8.85% between 2012 and 2015 as a lump in the UK. Something costing £35 in 2012 would on average cost £38.10 in 2015. He is right that (assuming you have some sort of inflation in your country – god help you if you had 3 years of deflation) things that don’t have increased cost (£35 then and £35 now) will be better value now (just cause on average everything else increased by inflation).

My claim is that there is such a thing as inflation, and that it means that a figure today is a worth a different value than the same figure several years ago. I did not comment on the difference. How could I, after refusing to do your own research for you? I do not know the rates. I merely mentioned that it is a factor in your comparison of prices over several years.

If you refuse to acknowledge inflation simply because someone can’t be bothered to teach you economics to “prove” there is such a thing, then you weaken your entire post. Especially when it is an extremely simple concept that obviously exists and is indeed both common knowledge and common sense. Such things don’t need formal evidence because that evidence is all around us every day. It’s like asking someone to prove they have air in their lungs. Shame on you for trying to weasel out of accepting it by essentially demanding one either write you an essay or sod off. You aren’t even under any obligation to investigate or factor it in; denying it exists without “evidence” however is just incredibly absurd, quite amusing, and a bit worrying.

I mean really, what do you expect? Me to complete a coursework assignment for you? “Dear Sir, I found inflation to be an unconsidered aspect in your price comparison. Inflation is <blown up, lengthy definition>. Please find attached my essay on economics, which details why inflation exists, what it is, and how it impacts economies worldwide.” The rest of the world has enough nonsensical bureaucracy as it is. I shan’t be party to the creation of more ridiculous protocols and definitely would not see them practiced on a gaming forum.

I don’t agree with all of your logic used, but I will say I 100% agree with your message. People need to stop attacking each other for their views on what has been going on with this expansion. Everyone is entitled to their views.
