Just had a match, we could wear down the enemy lord easily bit by bit, they didnt have an elementalist or guardian to heal it and it didnt heal ooc.
It’s cheap as hell, it should heal like any other npc.

If Legend of Zelda came out tomorrow, the usual
forum dwellers would go nuts about the need to
“grind” to get exp, new swords, new potions etc

The match have timer, so if the lord healed ooc, kill it in time could be a bit too hard.
Also, it is “easy” because your team was good (or the enemy was bad), because the lord you are guarding also doesn’t heal ooc.

It could have a timer before it heals, or it’s health could regen slowly, but it shouldn’t sit at 15% hp for a minute

I’m a fan of the lack of regen. attrition is fun

Druid main, 80 on all, Legendary ranked, Eternal and all that jazz (I go by Feyris in game)

I like the way it is, I don’t see a need to encourage builds which will spike down the lord, if you want to win by attrition, win by attrition, if you want to try burst down the lord then burst down the lord, besides if the enemy team wants to counter it they can try healing the lord.

It’s not pve . Your suppose to protect and support the lord. This may encourage healing or regen sharing builds. Healing would be a benefit to all allied npc not just the lord.

If you have this happen, then you risk more games ending based on points after running out of time, rather than lord kills.

Personally, I’d rather games end on lord kills.

I main an engineer with Elixir-infused bombs, Elixer Gun and Healing Turret. MY lord heals out of combat, I dunno about yours.

Bring healers if you want the lord to heal.

SH matches already frequently go to the full timer. They need to make defense weaker, not stronger.

I do not think the lord should heal. It is intentional to add an attrition to the game. If you want to keep your lord healthy you will need healers to defend the lord.

Another reason why they do not want the lords to heal is because all sPvP games are designed with quick matches in mind. If they regen’ed ooc it could prolong many matches into a time out scenerio, and that is not something Anet wants. They want games that rarely time out, and should be won mostly by defeating the lord/getting 500 points, depending on the game type.

Simplicity is complex.

Good feedback is key to getting the developers to listen to you.

This game mode is refreshing, and having the lord NOT heal is probably one of the best things about it. Unlike in LotF, the lord in Stronghold is the key to victory, not just a boost. If the lord healed, then all the other team would need to do is just barely keep him alive and bam, before you know it full health; all that progression lost.

And that, I think, is the point: progression. It felt so good knowing that I could help take down their lord and, if I died in the process, it was not all for naught.

Besides, like others have said, if your lord running out of health is an issue then just run some area healing. It can go a long way.

I really like the cele ele playstyle, and I love being able to be useful and heal the lord.

Last night had a game where myself (cele staff ele) and my friend (zerker staff ele) wiped the entire enemy team with 2 heroes inside of our lord room. Sure it was my friend and the lord which did most of the damage, but I kept him alive (and it feels amazing when you full rez the lord with Gylph of Renewal). Engis, Wars, Eles, and Guards all have viable healing builds that can help keep the lord up. I don’t think he needs to heal ooc, give people that want to play healing roles a place to shine.

And as others have said, the matches would drag on for even longer, or would only promote 5 man lord rushes once the gate was down. As it stands more than 50% of the games I’ve played have gone to time (to be fair about 25% of those games I got stuck with people who have never even heard of stronghold it seemed, or didn’t say ask anything until we were 10+min into the match).

The shortest match I’ve played lasted ~3min, because of a 4man rush on my team, and I guess no one on the enemy defended? But so many matches last 10+min if not, go to time.

he heals up to half health if he gets downed then brought back up.

Just to clarify, you guys know you can heal the lord. Get a d/d or d/f ele to start spamming heal skills and heal them 25% in a half minute to minute.
Just for trolling, I ran cleric ele d/d with 6 in water with monk runes, and healed the lord from 50% to full in about 45 seconds… Maybe a bit longer, but it was funny when they came back and had made no progress. I mean, I coukdnt do anything else, but it was funny

Ask your celestial staff Ele to heal the lord none stop.

Also since lord has downstate, rev skill like banner becomes much more viable. It’s a 50% heal in one cast.
