Suggestion : 2 Smaller Guild Halls
Missing two issues.
1. refunds for people who currently have a GH already
2. a larger GH isn’t necessarily “better”. a smaller one is actually more convenient so more convenient for some people regardless of guild size

Point 1. I think people would have to go with oh well I lose out there. I did say if you drop from 201 to 199 you don’t get a refund.
Point 2. A smaller hall would realistically be designed for a smaller group of people hence the smaller upgrade costs. If a larger guild wanted a smaller hall then they would have to kick people out and take the loss of mats. And they would have to take the cost of upgrading if they went back to a larger guild.
Why?
I am leader of a small guild. 7 active members only 3 are donating stuff.
We are casual players. Hardly more than 2 or 3 hours online a day at max.
Our guild has lvl 35 and has the stuff already stored to get lvl 37 and the rest won t be a problem.
So why smaller guildhalls? I dont want them and i see no reason for them. Just look what you need. Play stuff as you like and buy/craft what is needed.
Thats how we did it…and thats all it needs…
Edit: missing word added.

A wonderful way to acquire an angry mob.

ANet telling people to kick members would not be a terribly great idea either.

Why?
- If ANet plans to rebalance guild expenses based on guild size, then shouldn’t they do this holistically rather than piecemeal?
- If ANet continues to believe that expenses are properly scaled, then what’s the rationale for dividing the types of guild halls available?
I’m all in favor of offering smaller guild halls, I just don’t see that they should be exclusive to smaller guilds.
this has been already discussed numerous times, please do search the forums

My guild is 100 people. 5-10 active. 3-5 donating and we’re guild level 48.
Our guild is mainly a home for our communtity of gamers that have known each other over the last ten years. Hence all of the inactives who havent logged for over 2yrs.
The only difference is between your guild and any other guild is how much time/effort you put into building the hall. This will determine how quickly or slowly you build it. Not that your guild will never build it.

It is very unlikely GH upgrades will be much easier to achieve for 2 main reasons:
- Whole GH upgrade system is designed by Anet to reduce number of guilds in the game. They want to get rid of small guilds with few members and end up with very few huge guilds, but are too afraid to simply delete small guilds. So, they designed a system which makes it pretty much impossible for small guild to have meaningful upgrades in GH.
- Every player in guilds already upgrading their GH since HoT release will fight mindlessly against reducing upgrading cost because if they had to suffer badly by pouring mountains of gold and mats into upgrades and grinding months in silly PvE maps to gather all those account bound items, why should new guilds have easier way.
A simple and workable solution.
Welcome to kick wars 2. Taking a break? Going on vacation? Don’t be surprised if you are kicked when you get back so the guild stays at 200 members and keeps the much better and more convenient small hall instead of having to go for the larger one with all the empty space.
Not so simple and certainly not workable solution.
If this smaller guild hall will have access to the exact same upgrades as the larger guild hall just with a lower member cap, then I don’t see how this makes any sense.
I have a 4 person guild hall with only 2 people contributing and am at level 35 without too much pain.
Even a 200 member cap should have absolutely no problem upgrading under the existing structure. I see no reason to offer discounted upgrades.
Now, if you wanted to have a 5 member cap, then I could see it.
The only difficult upgrades for small guilds are the Scribing upgrades in the War Room. So much sand……
i have the same problem when I played Atlantica online. good thing my guildmate have a credit card.
Smaller or bigger guild halls..wont matter. It will always be empty. No one is gonna go hang in it. I said it before. Guilds should of bin able to claim houses in main cities. then the social aspect would of bin different. but who cares, game is dead anyway.
Isn’t the guild hall thing in LA a smaller guild hall?

Yup, guild initiation headquarters
Guild initiation headquarters is a joke.. you cant actually do anything like hang your banners and all. Unless they changed it.

It’s not a ‘joke’ — it’s meant to be a temporary access point for folks that haven’t capped their own hall yet, not a fully configurable hall.
but who cares, game is dead anyway.
