I have few ideas how to improve guild hall decorating and Scribe profession:

  1. Increase number of decorations that could be placed in one area, so complex sceneries or jumping puzzles could be created.
  2. Increase total number of decorations that could be placed in guild hall.
  3. Add new skill for erasing single decoration at cursor position.
  4. Reduce or remove recharge on all “Erase” skills.
  5. Remove green targeting circle from “Place” skill.
  6. Limit range of “Place” skill, so decorations could not be placed on distant places by an accident.
  7. Add possibility to rotate decorations around all three axes.
  8. Add possibility to change size and vertical placement of decorations.
  9. Add possibility to erase or locate one type of decoration.
  10. Add possibility to lock selected placed decorations, so they will not be affected by “Clear Decorations” button.
  11. Fix illogical recipes (e.g. Ceramic Planter is level 50 recipe and requires Basic Finishing Kit that cannot be crafted until level 75).
  12. Decrease number of decorations needed for upgraded versions (e.g. Block Topiary needs six Sphere Topiary).
  13. Decrease requirements for Decoration Merchant and Guild Trader, so even the small guilds will be able to use all basic decorations.
  14. Allow trading with crafted decorations and materials like “Sandpapers”, “Books”, “Ink Set”, “Kits”, etc.
  15. Add new section to “Material Storage” for materials like “Crystalline Bottles”, “Bags of Mortar”, “Wood Pulps”, “Papers”, “Sandpapers”, etc.
  16. Add new types of decorations like jumping pads, beds, shelves, fences, carpets, paintings, vases with flowers, dishes, etc.
  17. Add unique decorations that could be bought for different currencies (e.g. dungeon thematic decorations).
  18. Add at least one new decoration recipe each month (game contains a lot of 3D models that could be easily reused as decorations).
  19. Add decorations as very rare drops.
  20. Add decoration preview or at least link to wiki into context menu.
  21. Hide yellow label from Snow Maker unless CTRL is pressed.

A very good list.

I’d add “customizable signs” to the new decorations wishlist.

I like the list.

I’d like to add:
Snack Bar / Snack Table
bunch of white balloons
beanbag chair / floor cushion
guild flag (similar to the guild flag finisher)
desk

Yes! These are flipping decorations! They serve no purpose other than making the guild hall pretty! They are supposed to be fun, not a horrible horrible grind and gold sink.

World completion needed for a flipping globe?!?! Is this a sick joke?

Please fix.

Thought I’d mention that we do have detailed information on the first question that was asked, which is about guild hall decoration numbers.

Here’s that info.

“12. Decrease number of decorations needed for upgraded versions (e.g. Block Topiary needs six Sphere Topiary).

This most of all. Decorations are insanely expensive due to higher level needing multiples of the one below. This creates an exponential cascade of materials needed. And due to many decorations being locked behind the merchant, that is an added expense that prevents many guilds from acquiring them, especially if they are prioritizing something else, like PvP or WvW.

Blackgate Native. It takes tremendous strength and skill to pull a lever.

If we’re doing suggestions, please add a Super Adventure Box Arcade Machine. So we can enter Super Adventure Box whenever we want. It can even cost the price of making a legendary. (I know this idea may not come true but wanted to type it hehe).

What we need among the basic, easy-to-acquire decorations is beds. They’re kind of a basic furniture type. And the models certainly exist elsewhere in the game. Although necessity is the mother of invention, it’d be really nice not to have an entire guild sleeping on tables.

Also, bouncy mushrooms or the jump pads that are used in the Air Keep for WvW.

After looking at my huge scribe crafting list, I realized that one very important QoL change would be to separate the list into categories: Kits, Statues, Topiaries, Plants, Furniture, etc.

Also, we could always use more topiaries (like rabbit, dolyak, cat golem)… and just a quick question: is the two-part topiary we can make supposed to be a moa with its’ neck underground like an ostrich?

Another suggestion would be to add other light standards, like the metalwork Norn ones you see in Dredgehaunt – they’re classy and would look awesome in our GH.

I just finished crafting the Immense Lion Statue, and it is truly amazing! Can we get more awesome statues like that??

I agree, that’s an amazing statue. Having other statues like, like one of each playable race would be nice or even a male / female version. Scribes can make a Charr statue but they can’t make the other playable races. Even statues of Destiny’s Edge would be awesome.

Been looking for the decorations thread, so i guess this is a good as any.
How bout NPCs that walk/run around that you can converse with (or at least have a scripted dialog). I not sure if they will fall under “decorations” but they would make the guild hall look more alive. How bout an NPC vendor where you can hire these NPC placeables?
