I am currently getting ready to run the HoT gauntlet for the Sign Cutting chapter #14, for the second time. First time out I failed to find any but the first couple because of the poor pathing to each sign you needed to find on your way to Dragon Stand.
It would be an understatement to say the mobs are annoying. But to add insult to injury here, not knowing the level (top, middle, ground floor, or basement) of the various locations, made this a nightmare.
The mobs in this area just seem to follow you on a relay pattern: when one leaves off, he passes the baton to the next one and so on. I got ambushed somewhere after the 2nd sign just trying to figure out which level the sign might be on.
Scavenger hunts are one thing, but having to find some sort of “blade of grass next to a particular rock” is nuts. Its even worse if you have no stealth ability to bypass the worst of the mobs too.
Just my two cents worth. Hope the devs stop and think about making some of these levels much clearer. I did mapping in the military back in the day when you used rolled up maps and the topography was really clearly marked by their color.
Dark to light made a lot more sense, but the HoT maps appear to be all the same color when the maps are really a 3-4 level setup. And from what I’ve been told recent changes were supposed to be implemented to address this monochrome affect of the maps.
And heaven help those who are color blind. This certainly does not help. I used hash marks on some of my own maps to differentiate between levels in some cases where color could not really be determined. Topographic maps show the shape and elevation of the land very well and don’t really have to depend upon color, though color is helpful.
