First off I’ll say I am enjoying the expansion very much! So much so, that I forget to pay attention to my experience bar. This results in playing potentially for hours without noticing that it has filled and is ready for me to spend a point/select a new line. Today, for example, I completed two story chapters, a few events, and one of the map metas, all while my xp bar was completely filled. I am not blaming Anet for my focus being on events, map chat, guild chat, being enthralled by story, harvesting Flax on a billion characters… Ok, Anet is a bit to blame.

It would be a nice improvement if, once the xp bar fills, there is a popup saying, “Hey! Your xp bar is filled and you should use your points now,” which does not go away until you press “ok” (kind of like pre-80 leveling). I think part of the issue for me is that when the xp bar is filled, there is still a half inch remaining between it and the icon at the end… My brain apparently equates this with it not being full.

TL;DR: A more flashy indication (suggestion: popup that has to be clicked to go away) that my xp bar is full would be incredibly appreciated.

This would work IMO. Don’t ask us to use the points if we have them. If we’re gaining exp in that line, we WANT to put the points there ANET. Just immediately put the points there (unless we don’t have enough) and have the popup come out telling us we’ve mastered that skill.

The bar did that at the last beta. It filled up and you got a notice that you needed to select another.

I guess people complained about the notice popping up in the middle of a fight so they took it out. :/

It seems to me that excess exp actually DOES get redicrected to a different mastery though.

I’d still like that happening, but keep it at the upper left corner.
