Despite some complaints about the ease at which players can now get a Mentor Tag after completing the Pact Commander Mastery, I’d like to say that I really am enjoying the addition of it and have found it useful.

I’d like to suggest adding a function to the tag system that might alleviate some trolling issues (which I’m not personally convinced is a reality) and make it easier for good mentors to upgrade to full commander tags.

I propose adding a way for players to give a “like” or “thumbs up” vote to players that use the new mentor tag well. The reward for a certain level of vote would be a discounting of the price of a full commander tag.

I’ve been using the mentor tag to help my family do map completion, run zergs in the Labyrinth, and even help out players I don’t know in beginning areas, which I believe is the reason ANet added them to begin with. I personally do not have 300 gold…never have and probably never will, but I do like to help people and find the tag very useful. After leading zergs in the Labyrinth, I’ve gotten “Thanks for leading” and “Good job!” from players I don’t know, which is nice and I’m also thankful for people that pop a tag when no one else wants to step up and lead. I wish I had a better way to reward them, other than just saying “Thanks” in map chat.
