Guild Wars 2

I really like the mentor tag. I have been using it as I literally mentor my nephews, who got GW2 for Christmas. (‘Follow the apple’ is a great help.) However, when I turn it on, I start to attract people. I realize that’s the original intent, but it might be nice if I could make it private to my party.

Teach your nephews how to target you. Then you’ll have a tag (a large red circle above your head that looks like the picture) that they can easily see yet doesn’t attract other people.

Still a nice suggestion though. I would tag up for guildies only if I could. Especially with squad UI. It’s nice to make a big squad for the guild without necessarily wanting to put myself as a commander for meta events.

I don’t know why a private tag isn’t a thing with the new Squad UI. It would really help in wvw with private guild raids and it would stop tag watching.

actually this is a feature that would be nice to have i have a tag myself and only use it when with a guild id like to hide it cause we get randoms wanting to join all the time when we are trying to just coordinate

“Squad Markers and Lieutenants

We’re adding squad markers and the ability to promote lieutenants to our Enhanced Squad UI experience. Commanders will be able to appoint lieutenants to take care of administrative tasks like organizing subgroups, inviting or removing players, and broadcasting messages. Additionally, squad leaders will be able to mark locations, players, and enemies with symbols which will appear both in the game world and on your compass."

However I’m not sure if you will be able to do that in a group.
