I am not sure how to phrase this but I think it would be neat to have living moving things in the halls. They seem quite empty even with all the decorations about.
Some birds flying around, some of the various beasts from different zones walking/swimming in the areas of the hall would be cool. Would be non hostile to guild members and guests, don’t know if you would want them to be hostile to GvG combatants, but could add some spice. No loot drops at all is a given.
Not to mention a Dr. Evil fantasy of sharks with laser beams on their heads would be fantastic.

Or we could add fishing and add our catches to the guild hall!

We could add them as craftable scribe recipes.
One kitten would require 5 clumps of fur, a glass of buttermilk and some candy corn.

We can already fish, could use the scales and such as recipe items.

Proper fishing I mean. With a rod and bait, linked to a collection. Collection items can either be used in the guild hall or unlock a meta item for the guild hall.

won’t get into a debate but many think that spear-gun fishing/harpoon fishing/trident fishing is more proper than sitting with a line waiting for something to happen.

I don’t know which of the Guild Halls you are referring to, OP, but in our Lost Precipice there are definitely birds flying around, and you can hear them as well. They are not ambient or “green” (like NPC’s), but just part of the environment that make the Lost Precipice. I haven’t checked the waters below to see if there are fish swimming around, though.
I do agree that it would be cool to find creatures in the Guild Hall. Especially the little critters could find a way into your territory at any time. I’m not so sure about larger creatures. It would also make more sense for the Lost Precipice than it does for the Gilded Hollow, because the first is more open and basically just a canyon with structures in it, whereas the second is more closed off to the larger environment. But who knows how Guild Halls will evolve in the future? The content is only 3,5 months old. ANet will probably build on the foundation they put down with HoT. After all, look at how this game has changed over the past 3,5 years.

Guild Wars1 had a cool Menagerie that you could go into with all the animals in the game you’ve collected hanging around and you could recharm them and get certain stats for the animals. Would be amazing to see all that stuff walking around the Hall but doesnt have to be charmable as it is fun going out into the world to find the animals. But the Halls do need more life.
Animals and Fishing ideas sound awesome though!

And snakes. :o
Fishing will happen when they add boats, sailing and water dragon.

I would like to be able to make a slide from the highest reaches of the guild.
It would be cool to use those row boats, too.
Wandering npcs would be cool, and other things.
