1) New Guild Mission type: Fractal

2) A little more variety in the guild mission easy bounty target would be appreciated instead of it always being Poobadoo

3) For Guild Mission Trek, number each slot after it is activated. Currently slots are numbered before the trek is activated but once activated the numbers are removed and replaced with the location name. Would be nicer if the name was added without removing the number.

4) When you open guild mission tab and a mission is active, default to the active mission.

5) Show guild mission timer in upper right corner of GUI, similar to an event count down timer and other relevant stats such as number treks completed.

I agree on your first point, maybe even a dungeon like mission(?) with slightly better rewards.

The current missions get boring really fast, at least for me, since even if there is some difference in them, they are mostly the same thing, just “re-skinned”.

Most of them for number 3! Makes it easier for people to coordinate.

My suggestion is to also add a HoT-version of Guild Treks, (unlocked by creating an upgrade)

I think there are only 3 random options for easy bounty – Poopadoo, Brekkabrek and the fields of ruin tornado woman. Those are the ones designed for very small groups due to mechanics and ease of finding.

I would support brand new bounty targets though, but I think they have no plans for further work on Guild Missions going forward at this time based on I think one of the AMA’s on Reddit a while back.

My opinion is that guilds need to grow with the new living story and expansions. Not only with decorations (i do love those..) a new target isnt that difficult to add it seems to me.

The biggest difficulty is that ArenaNet has to keep guild missions to core maps, since those without HoT or Season 3 episodes (and soon enough, the new expansion) won’t be able to join in then.

New missions would still be nice, all the same. Even if it’s just a return of Season 1 events, like an instance of Twisted Marionette or Prime Hologram or something.

The biggest difficulty is that ArenaNet has to keep guild missions to core maps, since those without HoT or Season 3 episodes (and soon enough, the new expansion) won’t be able to join in then.

The only guild benefit you can get without HoT is farming the nodes (and that might be either an oversight or something that they couldn’t adjust easily), so I don’t see why ANet “has to keep guild missions to core maps.” They could set it up so that it was up to the guild leaders to decide whether to include newer missions or not.

Even with just core maps, though, there’s still lots of places that don’t have a guild mission. There are still only three puzzles, seven races, five challenges, and only a dozen-ish bounty targets.

I think the bigger problem is that it just takes a lot of time to design/test/implement new missions and that same effort could go into a new fractal, new current events, or other sorts of new content.

I speculate that the new expansion will include several improvements that keep getting put off by ANet for practical reasons, including new g-mish.

That’s only true for F2P, not non-HoT. There is an actual difference – pre-F2P core accounts can still access guild bank and other things.

Similarly F2P can access the guild hall and guild missions as it is.

And I wasn’t saying they couldn’t add any guild mission without trouble (hell my second paragraph you didn’t quote says they should), just that Cronospere’s suggestion of guilds “grow[ing] with the new living story and expansions” would still mean guild missions are still stuck pre-HoT regardless. Unless they change things.

And honestly, I feel that guild missions are the one thing among guild stuff that should never be excluded from F2P.

I agree with you that f2p and core players shouldnt be limited with current mission.
But like illconcieved said. Make it in such a way that hot missions are triggered seperately. So that the guild can choose.

For example. You have 3 easy mission slots. And we have the option to point out if we want pvp. Pve or wvw missions.
Give one of these 3 easy mission slots an option for either core missions or hot guild missions to add a choice.

There is no real reason to limit guild missions to the core maps – as others are saying, just make them into unique categories.

It’s worth noting – As of the last week in May, it has been more than 4 years since we saw a new guild mission.

It is WAY passed time to implement some new ones.

I’d even go for some guild missions that didn’t necessarily offer guild commendations but were more “Guild Mission Lite” types of things. For example:

Guild Hall Treasure Hunt: Find a randomly placed treasure chest in your guild hall. Successfully finding the chest rewards you with 5 silver, 2 loot bags, and rewards the guild with 50-100 favor.

Just some minor fun activities with minor rewards.

I would love it if ascended trinkets of the new stat combinations were available for trade with guild commendations — that might generate some interest in the veteran players to being interested in doing guild missions again.

Since the release of Guild Halls, I’ve always wanted a “Defend the Hall” Guild Mission, where the guild needs to hold off an invading tide of Mordrem or some other enemy. Possibly even with similar mechanics to the original mission to claim the hall.

What happens if the mission fails? Guild Hall reverts to normal just like no invasion had happened? That would feel odd. Guild Hall becomes contested territory until the mission succeeds? That would be super annoying to anyone just wanting to use the hall.
