Suggestions - New Guild Halls
The system is still quite new, at least we have guild halls now.
I love your ideas though.
I, for one, would love to have some of the guild halls from GW1. The Isle of Meditation was so awesome.
I mentioned in another thread of a similar vein that we should get to build some asura gates and consoles, even if only for decorative purposes. I want to build my asuran command center!
I’d love to see a few more halls, maybe a few that are smaller.
I’m pretty sure more guild halls will be coming in the future, but they will probably be for the new areas to be released in the future. I imagine new ones would follow a similar pattern to the ones we already have, where we have to clear out a bunch of dragon minions before being able to move in.
-a Fortress Deldrimor, for those who do not know it’s a dwarf architecture
or
-a Ark Floating Kodan, with decor “ice” and “snow” that would complement a palette of opposition decor choices with the style “desert” of canion
or
-a Outpost Tengu, an Asian style will delight the eyes of manga fans and is quite the game-play of the game with the city Tengu next to the Lion Arch is still inaccessible ^. ^
Two of your suggestions would be perfect for a Jormag slaying expansion! ^^-
The Tengu hall… I still hope for a new playable race. I still hope that the area next to LA will become a Tengu starting area.
Though it is hard for me to see it fit into an expansion theme at all, I would not be opposed to the alternative of having the area as a guild hall.
With the upcoming expansion I would personally love to see:
- An Asura themed guild hall Possibly akin to Spekks’s Laboratory, with magical blue lighting and lava in the walls! This hall should obviously come with lots of Asura NPC’s.
- An abandoned Skritt City, illuminated with green glowing moss, firefly-like bugs in the air, and other natural light sources, for a darker themed guild hall. Like the Asura Hall, this hall should come with Skritt NPC’s.
Leave it to A-net to decide whether the suggestion is possible or not.
While I support the idea of new halls. (in this case, more is better), how would situations where a guild that captured one of the existing halls (and upgrades) wants one of the new ones?

Could be handled like it is now. You pay the price for exploration and run the claim guild hall mission and the new guild hall replaces your old one.

What about all the upgrades that you already unlocked? Would those be removed? While I do not mind ( I am all for gold/material sinks). I know many would be in an uproar over that.
Probably an additional one or two per expansion.

right now you can switch guild halls, and all upgrades are transferred to the new hall. I don’t see any future ones being any different
| 61 Asura | 5 Charr | 2 Norn | 1 Human | 1 Sylvari |
I love it
I need Kodan’s Ark for my Guild
+1

We learn something new every day. Thanks for clarifying.
It would be great if in new guild halls you add zoning for individual housing. ( or making housing completely seperate…w/e
Also that floaty island thingy in south Eastern corner of Kessex Hills you could make into its own HUGE map just for housing! since currently nobody can get to it

Guild halls are useless, so unless they make them more useful it looks like a waste of development resources. You spend maybe 1min a day there to mine the resources then never touch it again for the day.

That may be how You see it, but some of us enjoy spending time there hanging out with guildies :P

I can hang out in 1000 places in the game world with guildies if I wish to do that. No need to do that in a content less guild hall.

I spend hours in the guild hall. My new Olympic record is 9 hours straight! I’m the guild scribe/ JP master. I build different jps weekly. I’ve explored everywhere so that’s kinda boring now and with out WPs on the 3rd and 4rth level of gilded hollow it makes it quite annoying when building.
up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down, oh and that’s climbing/ jumping up and gliding/falling down.

I agree it should of had more content to begin with, the size is massive, 1000 objects placed and the hall still seemed empty, 2k objects not gunna do much to that “empty feeling” but if given permissions you can build some pretty amazing things. Just wish i had more basic decorations to choose from (with variety) and more things to craft.
Plus you can, decorate your own crib if you wish/are allowed to claim land.

I’d like to see a basic Norn Homestead GH…like Cragstead…with many buildings and maybe a cave or two…with some NPC Norn living there.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the other ideas presented here too…and if Kodan become playable, I am all about a floating Kodan Sanctuary. Same for Tengu.
I can because I want to
I want to because you said I couldn’t
I would love to see one based on old Lion’s Arch. Not the whole thing, but just the central main areas, especially the old Lion’s Fountain. The artwork pretty much exists already, and it would seem easier then designing one from scratch.
