I believe it’s a prologue to the upcoming Season 3. Pretty easy to complete the achievements. Did them in less than an hour. Hopefully, more carrots to chase in the coming days.
Really enjoyed those events. I was a bit bemused by the Mastery XP rewards automatically applying to my already maxed XP line. Would have been nice to be able to stash those to use against (presumed) new masteries in the future but I guess in Central Tyria we’re never short of XP.

I agree… while I won’t complain about more APs, I did feel a little “cheated” on the rewards for the event since I’m maxed on Tyrian masteries. Perhaps ANet will be kind enough to give us some Maguuma-related events. That’s where I could use those XP rewards.

I was hoping to stash mine also as I’m mastery locked now in Tyria. But no, it was automatically applied, and therefore it was a worthless reward for me.

Doesn’t that XP already go to an unfilled random line? Or are you saying that you have all your avaliable lines capped out and can’t move on due to mastry points?
In which case I’d say why aren’t you doing stuff that rounds out the mastry points, as at that point all your xp in central tyria is being wasted anyway.

I’m slowly working on the HoT Masteries. The few remaining Tyrian ones are ones I’ve tried to get before, but failed to get for various reasons so I’ve put them aside for now to try later. That doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t prefer a reward not to be useless or that I haven’t already posted several times on the forum about exp being wasted if the mastery lines are maxed.

There’s a difference between not supposed to be an amazing reward and potentially no reward at all.

This was Anet’s response to COF farm (or something along those lines):
Central Tyria Masteries were designed with older content in mind, how quickly you level and obtain those masteries is your choice.
Judging from the continued presence of that farm, and an impressively fast response (and nerf) of another exploit that was discovered in Heart of Thorns, you can see their intent and shift of focus regarding old content. Sure, its not a black & white “no central masteries ever” answer. Even if they do (or did) respond in such a way, it isnt written in stone; things can change. Take from it what you will.
